Re: On demand hot water heater - update

I'm glad you can brush your teeth with warm water now. Using cold water is the worst early in the morning :?

Re: Check out my new dog treats!!

Yeah I never understood why if BF is a high end RV they would start out with Crank up windows in the cutaway chassis. I know it is 25 years old but they had power windows by 1989.

Check out my new dog treats!!

I guess I should have put a comma in the title.....Check out my new dog, Treats!!! We already have a dog Basil, previously DW and I had Pepper, and as a kid I had Ginger. DW and I had 3 names picked out for DS to choose from. Pesto, Oregano, and Chilli. When we went to the rescue to pick him up DS j...

Re: craigslist ad, do you think this is really a Born Free?

It looks like a commercial unit to me. We are thinking RV but Born Free, or Dodgen Industries makes lots of commercial stuff as well. Even though there is no big sticker shouting Born Free there might be some badging somewhere that says Born Free/Dodgen Industries. Granted the guy is making a jump t...

Re: Anybody BF owners belong to the Escapees?

Sorry, I don't have any words of wisdom for a Rally with 200 RV's  The camping group I belong to is having a Thanksgiving Rally next weekend in PA (we camp in PA area once a month) and at the most we will have 20 sites booked and a potluck for 75 people. For our Rallies my advice is: - Hang o...

Re: How common are Wild Turkeys?

3 years ago I was on a guys camping weekend at French Creek SP in PA. We sit around the campfire and drink beer all weekend :D There was 1 wild turkey running around the campground loop all summer long. There were also a couple of kids in the campground with light sabers. One of them was pretending ...

Re: on demand hot water heater

I just bunked with a buddy on a guys weekend who had an on-demand HWH in his HTT. I thought it was a PIA. You had to let the water run a bit before it got hot which is how it is designed......but when you camp without water hook ups you are wasting fresh water and filling your gray tank prematurely ...

Point taken about where the Gunk is and the fuel pick up is. I still don't want to run the tank dry :)

Re: Fuel guage question

I have a 1989 that I believe has a 40 gallon tank (per the literature). My gas gauge does not work and it will cost $500 to replace because they need to drop the tank. The odometer still works so I just fill up every 200 miles or less. I get 7mpg so at 200 miles that would be 29 gallons. I wouldn't ...

Re: Spitting Rocks

I have had rocks and mud fling out of the tires as I drive down the road. They are usually gone in a couple of yards....unless I am driving on a gravel or muddy road. As for damage to another car behind me.....show me the rock from my RV that hit your car. It is never going to happen. Besides, there...

Re: Attaching an Add A Room

I used my add a room once. If I remember correctly it can still be used without screwing those thingy's to the RV. It may not have the best seal to keep the bugs out then but you can still use it.

Re: Cabover window

You could take the pilgrimage to Humbolt to visit the factory and have them put a fiberglass nose cone on it for an arm and a leg. Personally I would take it to a local autobody shop and see if they could make a nose cone over the window. It sure would save on gas and a hotel to/in Humbolt. I would ...

Re: Traveling with A Weber Grill

Ever heard of a Hitch-Q ? It is a BBQ that goes into your receiver hitch. Personally I have a small propane grill that I either put in my storage box that I have in my receiver hitch (I store much more than the BBQ in there). My RV also has a factory electric grill that slides into a compartment und...

Re: Rattling in refrigerator

It sounds like the items are packed very loosely and have room to move causing the rattling noise. I suggest adding more beer to the fridge to fill in the gaps
