Re: Spring Cleaning the outside of my Born Free BFT 2007

What products do you use to clean the black streaks on the sides and roof? A basic washing took care of most of my streaks but my roof is black. I know I should wash it more often but I don't. Who decided to make RV's white???????????

Re: Captain chair question.

My front captains chairs swivel. Are you sure there isn't a lever under the seat that allows yours to swivel as well? My Passenger seat needs to be played with a bit (forward all the way and tilted forward all the way then turn and adjust normal) to swivel around. That one is my preferred seat when ...

Re: Extra Storage - Tow Trailer?

I'm sorry I wasn't clear. It is one or the other, never the truck box AND trailer at the same time. Although I usually throw the truckbox in the trailer. I don't have much in the truck box. My outdoor rug, grill, propane bottles, and kids toys. I just needed some extra storage space. I did one time ...

Re: Extra Storage - Tow Trailer?

I have towed a small 4x8 trailer behind my RV and I also have a truckbox that I have on a rack that goes in the hitch. When I have the trailer I usually just unhook and push it wherever I want it. Too much of a PIA to try to back it into position. I have towed popup campers with 8" wheels and t...

Re: Spring camping....in snow

Out of 26 sites only 2 cancelled. Everyone else made it and we had many visitors as well. We did have lots of fun. We have a good bunch of people who like to joke. I'm a geocacher. A few friends grabbed my beer and hid it in the woods and left me the gps coordinates to find it. At least it sta...

Spring camping....in snow

My camping group just had its annual Spring Opener Rally. We have had some odd weather camping in March. This year South East PA got 5-6 inches of snow on Friday. Many of the people coming added Thursday night to avoid traveling in the snow. Personally I woke my son up at 7am and put him in the RV i...

Re: add on room?

I have an AAR that came with my BF. It has velcro on the side of the coach to attach it but it doesn't work very well anymore. However I didn't think the lack of attachment to the coach compromised its use. I have only used it once for a week long trip 2 years ago. I'll dig it out again for another ...

Re: Please...All members deserve respect.

I'm not a member but I am a semi-frequent poster. Disagreements happen. There is nothing wrong with them. Often I find them funny. Michelin tires are the best and no other tire should ever be considered. Sorry, I disagree. There is no point in paying dues for a forum. I just want to chat with ...

Re: Letter from new Born Free President & CEO Jeff Butler

My RV is 25 years old. This announcement has zero impact on me. Good luck to Dodgen's and the new owners and leaders of Born Free. Change is good. Sometimes Bad, but usually good. You need change to keep you fresh in any market.

You can water your lawn with gray water. You probably don't want to do that with Black water......although I have when it is not black but yellow water

Re: Whats the most you paid for DRY camping?

I camp at a local County park and dry camp with no electric and no water on a dirt spot for $15 per night. PA state parks are $28 for a site with no electric and no water on a paved spot. I have paid $85 for a 20x20 spot at a 3 day flea market where we sleep in campers or vans. We actually get 3 spo...

Re: Ice

I usually don't use ice but I understand people like them in drinks. DW likes some in her wine so I empty the home ice maker into a ziplock and throw it into the freezer. Someone in my camping club bought a tabletop ice maker. I think he said it drops a tray every 20 minutes. It is electric and plug...

Re: How do I cut off hose clamps on water line?

Here is how I repaired my toilet. Mine is a bit older than yours but I'm sure it will be pretty similar. I used a dremmel cutting wheel to cut off the old clamp and then pulled the old gray tubbing off. Then I used pex to replumb it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wRBf2_BuMg&list=UU1e1Fnlri3B5P...
