Re: Electric Day/Night Shades
I have had my AutoMotion shades on my 2015 coach get out of synch and jammed up so that they would not go up or down. The motor was working fine. Had to reach up and pull the bottom of the shade down so that they were free. if you can't reach the bottom of the shade easily take off the valance so th...

Re: New Tires
I agree with the Firestones. Liked them a lot on my old coach. Will put them on my new coach when the Michelins time out.

Fancy Gap Cabins and Campgrounds
This campground is right on the Blue Ridge Parkway about 3 miles south of the Fancy Gap, VA entrance. It was recently purchased by the Green's and is well maintained and quiet. The bathrooms are individual private rooms complete with toilet, shower, sink and enough room. The sites are, as you would ...

Re: Electric Day/Night Shades
I believe the motorized shades are no longer standard but an option. I think the standard item is a manual roll up shade. The Automotion Shades which are on my coach and the MDF shades, which I believe are the brand that Born Free is currently using are superior to the day/night pleated shades that ...

Re: Roof Maintenance
The roof on my 2015 painted coach is left unpainted and is therefore white gelcoat.

Re: Electric Day/Night Shades
The shades on my 2015 coach are Automotion Shades which may be a different mfg. from your 2017 coach. However there may be some general similarities. I have found them to be somewhat temperamental. If they go up at a tilt I would suggest running them all the way down and then rewinding them a few ti...

Re: $1000 Lithium Battery at Costco
At a recent RV show I was quoted a price of $2500 to replace my two 12 volt coach batteries with a single lithium battery. Benefits of the Li battery included longer life, able to discharge the battery and maintain constant voltage to a very low percent (don't recall exactly), weighs 20 pounds ( AGM...

Re: New Owner questions ... Glad to be here!
I use the RVI brake system. I really like it for its portability between cars, its size and ease of installation. The newer models now come with a tire pressure monitoring system for the Toad.

Re: RV Rental?
Many years ago I came up with the idea to buy a Class C Motorhome and rent it out to pay for it. This was before Cruise America existed. My problems were that every time it came back from a rental I had to spend time and money cleaning and repairing all the damage done by the customer. In addition w...

Re: Dead truck battery
I vote for the trickle charge solution. Potentially a lot less problems and an easy fix. By the way, the battery shutoff with the green knob in the previous post has a high failure rate. I would strongly suggest that no one consider using it. I speak from experience & online research. I even use...

Source for tires and general maintenance in the Finger Lakes
Willcox Centers, 233 Elmira Rd. Ithaca, NY 14850, WILLCOXTIRECENTER.COM I unfortunately ruined the sidewall on a rear tire on my BF coach while touring the Finger Lakes Region. I called several tire places at various locations in the area from Skaneateles to Corning, NY with no luck in finding a rep...

Re: Drag Rollers - replacement wheels
When I was at the factory this spring I had them install some new casters that I had ordered. They looked a like the cast iron with poly casters that are on the catalog page with the phenolic wheel with delrin spinner. I got them because They looked capable of holding up a lot more weight and the be...

Re: Infared temp gauge
I have been using a Harbor Freight Infrared Laser Thermometer for some time. Sells for $20 and is small, about he size of a remote garage door opener, so I can keep it on the console where it is handy. I realize it is probably not as accurate as other brands but I am really looking for an unusually ...
