Cracks in GelCoat of my 2011

I will have to stop by and talk to them on my next trip to Medford.

After watching the 2 Tap Plastic Videos, I am even tempted to do it myself.
The big thing is losing the decal.
Talked to Kim a while back. He said to send him a pic. They may or may not have.

All I know, is to watch the sun/ heat build up caused by the darker decals.
I still think this had something to do with the cracking.
Plus the flexing! Poor design in my humble opinion.

We went to our first Britt Fest show in Jacksonville a month ago. Fun. Neat town.
Will do again for sure.

I am told that Born Free sells replacement decals. You may be able to order the one you need. If the existing isn't faded too much you may be able to cut a patch to place over the portion you will have to remove to make the repair. May not work. Just trying to be helpful.

Steve, Sorry for the late response. I've been to the Reno Air Races and stopped by the Alvord Desert for a week to see the land yacht sailors. (These are the times that remind us what an RV can make possible. See picture.)

A few thoughts regarding the cracks:
I haven't noticed any large cracks yet - a few small ones (<2") scattered about. However, the decals are pealing up at the edges. (I've just carefully trimmed them off with a razor blade.)

We live at 4200' - that's a 40% increase in UV radiation over sea level. Parking near a UV reflecting surface can more than double UV. The affects from UV radiation at altitude on almost any painted/coated surface is profound. Our BF spent the first 2.5 years outside and I could not keep up with the waxing every 2 mos to prevent chalking. Winter or summer, day after day, UV exposure takes a toll on house, car, truck and RV.

Do you keep the refer on when home? The heat from the refer may add to the sun's radiation to exacerbate the flexing. Check the refer venting and make sure it is adequate. One of those auxiliary fans may help the airflow and increase the efficiency of the refer as well.

Go talk to Smiley @ Smiley's RV on Pelican St in KFalls. He repaired the fiberglass on my roof where the *%&^ #~*% flexible solar panels caught fire. It's been 7 years and the roof is still perfect. At the least, I think he will be able to help you understand your options better.
