Steve

We have a 2007 24RB and put up with the same problem for years. Finally my wife put the proverbial foot down and said "fix it". So - I took the bulb out and immediately noticed that it was not clear. I then called Kip at BF and he suggested I replace the bulb; an obvious answer but I had thought that perhaps there was something involved with the hood manufacture to turn the bulb dark. Anyway, i took the bulb down to a shop here in town that specializes in batteries & bulbs and we now have a decent light over the hood. Simple fix.

Hope this helps.

I replaced the incandescent bulb with a couple of LED panel lights purchased on eBay similar to the following:

They came with adapters to fit different sockets. The ones I bought had what's called 5050 LEDs which are quite bright. I recently purchased some lamps that have 5630 LEDs which are even brighter.

Click the link below to display some that are available on eBay:

They are available in either white or warm white. I preferred the white for over the cooktop.

Neat. I also would be interested in buying one for my BF. Thanks.

I aquired this LED at one of the vendor booths at an FCMA SEA rally. Unfortunately the product is unmarked and came in an unmarked box. If I find that I still have info on this vendor I'll post this. Sorry!

That was our problem as well so Curt put 2 LED tap lights facing down at the burners and they work really well. If we're using one burner we tap one on. They come with double stick tape on the back and he put them inside the vent hood. Easy and cheap remedy. We got them at Memards.
