I-Rally Description

Join your fellow Club members at this historic springtime rally when blooming flowers and trees abound. Washington, DC is a grand capital of wide avenues, public squares, and many historical sites. You will be awestruck by the sights and history that lies within. You will have the opportunity to explore the spectacular icons and breathtaking sites of Washington, DC which celebrate our nation, our patriotism, and the struggles we faced for both peace and the progress of our nation.

There are three optional group activities from which to choose, and you may choose any or all. Customize this rally to create your own adventure!

Please Note: Rally attendance will be limited to 20 coaches.

Getting Around

There are several options for getting from Cherry Hill Park to downtown Washington, DC:

  • The College Park Metro Station is about a 15 minute's drive from the RV park.
  • Metro buses can take you to the Metro station where you get on the Metro Subway.
    • The buses run from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Monday-Friday, and stop at the campground every 30 minutes.
    • The buses take you to the Metro station where you get on the Metro Subway.
    • You can get both bus and Metro cards at the Cherry Hill Park Office.
    • These same buses pick up at the Metro station and return to the campground.
  • The Cherry Hill Park Express Bus runs from the RV park to the Archives Building (corner of Constitution and 7th) once a day.

II - Rally Itinerary

Sunday, April 28
12:00 pm Check-in begins
6:00 pm Meet and Greet at Group site #1600.
Subs, chips, fruit, nuts, water, and table service will be provided.
 
Monday, April 29
All Day This is a free day if you don't want to take the optional Monuments by Day Tour.
You have the opportunity to just relax or see DC on your own.
 
  Option 1: Monuments by Day Tour
8:45 am Meet at the Campground Office.
You can bring water and snacks.
The bus will stop for lunch on your own for 1 hour.
9:00 am The tour bus leaves.
A tour bus guide accompanies you throughout the tour to the following locations:
5:00 pm The tour bus returns.
 
Tuesday, April 30
All Day This is a free day if you don't want to take the optional Monuments by Night Tour in the evening.
You have the opportunity to just relax or see DC on your own.
 
  Option 2: Monuments by Night Tour
5:15 pm Meet at the Campground Office.
You can bring water and snacks.
The bus will NOT stop for dinner.
5:30 pm The tour bus leaves.
A tour bus guide accompanies you throughout the tour to the following locations:
10:30 pm The tour bus returns.
 
Wednesday, May 1
All Day This is a free day if you don't want to take the optional Fallen Heroes Day Tour.
You have the opportunity to just relax or see DC on your own.
 
  Option 3: Fallen Heroes Day Tour
8:45 am Meet at the Campground Office.
You can bring water and snacks.
The bus will stop for lunch on your own for 1 hour.
9:00 am The tour bus leaves.
  A tour bus guide accompanies you throughout the tour to the following locations:
5:00 pm The tour bus returns.
 
Thursday, May 2
9:00 am Say good-byes and depart the campground.

III - Additional Information


Pets are allowed in the campground, subject to the standard conditions. A dog walker is available. Please make arrangements with Sandy at 240-501-7455.


Additional Days

This rally takes place in the Washington, DC area. There are so many things to see and do in the area that we're not even going to try to list any. Have fun exploring!

Option 3: Cherry Hill Park Bus Tour: Fallen Heroes Day Tour Additional cost of $95/person.


Attendance limit: 20

Registration deadline: April 1, 2024

Cancellation deadline: April 1, 2024

Refund: Partial refunds after April 1, 2024 based on financial obligations to vendors.


Name Badges

If you don't have an official Leap'n Lions name badge and you'd like to have one for the rally, follow the instructions on the Name Badge webpage.

Registration

Attendance is limited to current members and alumni members of the Born Free Leap'n Lions RV Club. Membership is only $15.00 per year. A membership application may be found on the Join Us! webpage.
