plan to sell 2011 Born Free RSK (23') - single owner, stored indoors

********************************** UPDATE: This RV has been sold. ********************************** Early next spring, we plan to put our 2011 Born Free RSK on the market through one of the commercial services. Until we do that, I wanted to let our intentions to sell be known to the enthusiasts' gr...

Re: Speculation, but

I feel that the problem was simply the private equity ownership that was caused by the unfortunate passing of the first two generations of family. Born Free was a great family business. I'm guessing it generated enough money for the Dodgen family to have a comfortable upscale life. That isn't enough...

2011 Sirius module

I'm looking to replace the in-dash Jensen radio with a Pioneer unit that supports Android auto. It appears that the existing Jensen radio uses the Sirius SCC1 module. The Sirius module that is sold as an accessory to new radios today is not the SCC1. Has anyone replaced their older Jensen in-dash wi...

Re: Wanna be Born Free owner questions...

There are others here that are much more in tune with the configuration of the previous models than I am. It seems to me that the smaller units are all individual sleeping opportunities. As you go up in size, you'll get an rear corner bed opportunity. Newer units with slides then give you a queen op...

Re: Wanna be Born Free owner questions...

Good questions. We made a mistake with our first motorhome purchase - not because of the motorhome itself but rather it just wasn't the right fit for us. Good that you're thinking of these things. As far as size goes, it really comes down to a couple issues in my opinion. Be very realistic about the...

Re: Why so different than nada prices and why no activity in

On an annual basis I update the approximate value of my coach in my financial software so that my RV loan has an offsetting asset associated with it. Is there any recommended method for actually determining a value for a used Born Free coach? Would using NADA retail be a conservative but still reali...

metal insert from inside RV exhaust pipe

While tailgating today I noticed a piece of metal sitting next to my RV. It is a metal insert that used to be in the exhaust pipe of the generator that has a cone shaped metal screen on it. Somehow the screw through the exhaust pipe that held this insert in place has actually ripped through the inse...

Alignment? Tire balance?

Our 2011 Ford E350 coach has a vibration of sorts at freeway speeds even on good road surfaces. This is not a wondering issue or even a bad enough vibration that the passengers notice. However there is a repetitive vibration in the steering wheel (maybe 1/2" total?) and my smartphone that is mo...

Re: Lights under coach

Assuming that the lights spill out beyond the footprint of the coach a little, I could see it being a decent alternative to lights on the side of the coach for providing a little bit of security and a little bit of light should you need to be outside the coach when it is dark outside.

Re: Commercial campground guide

I like the RVParky app because I can filter it by the type of campground and also the campground amenities that I need. Once that's set then you can easily browse on the map and as you move the map it refreshes the results. What I like about the app is that it usually has a link to the website for t...

Re: Place to Park RV in Atlanta

Have you considered contacting some of the 3rd party long term airport parking lots and seeing if they accept oversized vehicles? We did this in Orlando once when we had to fly somewhere for a wedding in the middle of an RV vacation.

Re: 5 Star Tuning...my 2 cents

There definitely are risks with any modification like this. I did wait until my factory warranty was up before I applied the modification since Ford could walk away from the factory warranty once they see the modification registered in the computer. I would just say from my experience so far that th...
