Re: Replace Norcold unit with Amish Unit
I had a frig problem last year so was looking at these units and talking to folks I know that have them. Turns out they are wonderful if you can go to Indiana and have jc-refrig install it, but DON'T have one shipped. Laying them down on their side for shipping will likely require lots of fiddly adj...

AC Power problem
I appear to have overloaded my 30 amp circuit. I've got good power at the pedestal according to my Progressive Dynamics EMS. DC lights are working inside. My outlets work fine if I switch on my inverter. What solar there is today is slowly recharging the batteries. So... opening the converter (Progr...

Extend A Stay
Has anybody installed an inline extend-a-stay? I'm boondocking in a remote location and want to hook up a large propane bottle so I don't have to drive to town for a fill up. I found a great video on youtube, but it was an install on a class A with a large area between the shut off valve and the reg...

Re: Replacement coach batteries
I had mine replaced with two 6 volt Lifeline AGM 6CT batteries. 300AH. They had to take out the battery tray and lay the AGM's on their sides. Framed them in with wood so they don't slide around. I like to boondock so I went with the 300AH batteries. They are about 2.5 years old and I'm very happy w...

Re: Have Born Free BFT - has anyone installed a front bike r
I heard somewhere that installing a front hitch for a bike rack would invalidate the Ford warranty? Blocks air flow to the radiator?
Do you think that is simply's Ford's way of failing to honor a warranty?

Re: New Winegard antenna
My concern with the Rayzar is that it would act like a sail and take a beating in the winds of AZ and NM. I can't think that would be good for it, or the connection to the roof.

Re: New Winegard antenna
I am trying to post a picture of mine. Sorry it's not a great picture, but you can get an idea of what it looks like. The mast lies flat on the sloping part of the roof. The wingman attachment does stick out over the radial edge of the MH an inch or two, but not as far out as the awning cover.

Re: Towing a 2006 Subaru Outback
I tow a 2011 Subaru Forester manual tranny 4-down. I have a Blue Ox tow bar (needed a 4" drop receiver) and a Stay 'N Play duo brake system on the toad. Easy to hitch and unhitch.

Re: So, what the worst road you have had your Born Free on?
Without a doubt, it was in Florida, March 2014. Followed my gps from Sopchoppy up to Wood Lake Hunt Camp in the Apalachicola National Forest. GPS took us up Rose St to FR340, then FR338. 5 miles on the Forest Service Roads, muddy, all three of us towing and nowhere to turn around. Very rough dirt ro...

Re: New Winegard antenna
I haven't been up on the roof but it looks flat from the side. They took off the old one and put on a new one. Lot of folks here have Winegard batwing antennas. I had it swapped out at D&R Family RV in Glendale, AZ. They come very well recommended. They also took off the old control box for the ...

Re: New Winegard antenna
I guess it's not really a kit. Just a part. I found them cheapest on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Winegard-RW-2000-Roof-Wedge-Camper-Trailer-RV/380822413256?_trksid=p2054897.c100204.m3164&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140407115239%26meid%3D2b335d87dea744e58ee5e050b4...

Re: New Winegard antenna
The latest and best is the Sensar IV, it is simply the Sensar III with the Wingman already attached. It's a crank up antenna. The motorized version that I have has been discontinued. I think I'll be getting the Sensar IV, and add the SensarPro Strength Meter, to aid in aiming. Has anyone used the we...

Re: New Winegard antenna
Thank you for posting that Tom. I appreciate hearing your experience with it. This is a very timely thread for me. The motor on my Winegard Sensar with wingman has been acting flakier and flakier lately, and managed to fail completely yesterday. I came to the forum to look for recommendations and no...
