Re: Leak? 24RB ever seen this area water damaged

Hi Bill, The reason I suggested a leaky toilet valve as the possible source of water damage in that area is because when my valve leaked some of the water found its way under the wall between the bathroom and the rear door and cause the vinyl flooring to start buckling at the top of the steps from t...

Re: Leak? 24RB ever seen this area water damaged

You might check the valve at the rear of the toilet. I had a leak there that went away after replacing the valve.

Re: Clay with a Catalyst ?

It sounds like a stick of J-B Weld epoxy, which comes in various types for repairing different materials (metal, plastic, wood, etc.). You can buy it at ACE Hardware and probably at almost any other hardware store.

Re: ISO good mechanic near Portland, Oregon

I've had good luck with Northside Ford, 6221 NE Columbia Blvd in Portland. Ray in the service department at 503-493-5548 has been very helpful. if you decide to try there, mention my name to Ray.

Re: Actual Fuel Capacity?

I was HOPING that the gauge reading empty would mean that the E450, like most other vehicles, still had a little bit in the tank. It looks like that is the case, and that when the gauge hits the E there is still about 5 gallons left and that those remaining gallons are actually usable. Thanks for re...

Actual Fuel Capacity?

Due to a combination of events too embarrassing to relate, I recently almost ran out of gas in my 2002 24RB. The gauge buried itself in the "E" a ways before I made it to a gas station. It took 50.2 gallons to fill up. The manual says the gas tank holds 55 gal. Does anyone know if that 55 ...

Bathroom door hinge replacement?

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement for one of the bathroom door hinges on my 2002 24RB? The hinge itself is fine but one of the screws attaching it got loose and the backing plate that fits into a slot in the door must have then fallen out and was lost. Thanks!

Replacement of cabover (skylight) window on 2002 24' RB

The cabover skylight window in our 2002 24' RB fogged up a couple of years ago, then began leaking this year despite much caulking and recaulking around it. I recently had it replaced by RV Glass Solutions in Coburg, OR and they did a TERRIFIC job. Total cost was $430. Great people to work with. No ...

Re: Curtain air duct

Another approach that has worked well for us is to mount a small Coleman tent fan on the end wall of the upper cupboards, facing forward toward the cabover bed, at the foot of the bed. This circulates a nice gentle breeze through the bed area and is especially helpful to anyone sleeping toward the f...

Re: Drag Rollers - replacement wheels

Sorry to take so long to reply. The part number from my local distributor, Industrial Caster and Wheel, is 524-PR-12 for an exact replacement for the one used by Bornfree, with a delrin (plastic) central bearing. The wheel they had in stock and that I got was slightly different in that it has a roll...

Drag Rollers - replacement wheels

One of the drag roller wheels on my 2002 24RB was completely worn out so I called Kim at Bornfree for a replacement. He was very helpful as always but was unable to send just the wheel, had to sell me a complete new caster and wheel assembly for $50 plus $25 for shipping. The new caster had the name...

TV system upgrade

I replaced the original 13" analog TV in our 2002 24RB with a 19" LCD HDTV with a built-in DVD player, and mounted it to the wall (backing up to the side of the refridge) using a bracket that tilts, swivels and goes in and out. To keep it secure while traveling I attached cup hooks to the ...

Generator cranks but won't stay running

I had a similar problem when I forgot to flip the "winter/summer" lever on the generator back to "summer" this spring.
