Re: Why so different than nada prices and why no activity in

I found that newer BF's are high priced and I would never be able to afford one. I owned a 1989 Born Free. At that age it was just an old RV and only worth the cash someone was willing to put in my hands....which was $3,300. Someone somewhere said I should have gotten a lot more  . I originally...

Re: Any '89 Born Free President Owners here?

TrueNorth....I had an 89 26 foot Rear Side Bed. I just sold it a few months ago for a Travel Trailer. I had it for 3 years with only minor issues until the end. A $900 fuel pump replacement hurt the wallet when I had the for sale sign in the window :( I have a couple of video's on my youtube channel...

Re: Camping Spot between Philadelphia and Princeton NJ

If you just want to overnight I can tell you the Wal Mart in Exton PA is a safe area and I have seen RV's there. The Wal Mart in Wayne PA is also a safe area and I have seen RV's there as well. If you are in the area on Friday or Saturday night you can stay at Hibernia County park for $15 per night....

Re: Camping Spot between Philadelphia and Princeton NJ

Dallas....I highly recommend French Creek State Park in Elverson PA. I have camped there often. It is about 45-60 minutes outside of Philly. I don't think there are any campgrounds that are really close to Philly. I have stayed at the KOA in West Chester PA as well and similar distance away. Both ar...

Re: Question on the air bags

I have a slow leak in my air bags. I travel with an air compressor. I air up before I start my trip to the campground on Friday and I air up on Sunday for the trip home.

Re: Trailer Hitch Cargo Carrier

I bought a rack for my receiver hitch from Harbor Freight for $50. I used it with some plastic totes for a trip or 2 then I acquired an aluminum truck box. I used 4 U-bolts to attach it to the rack and I have a nice storage trunk. http://i1357.photobucket.com/albums/q752/CamperDude/IMG_0262_zps6301d...

Re: So, what do you think of a Push Bar on your BF?

I have never seen a push bar that is beefy enough to push something. I have a "push bar" on my current truck and on one years ago. It makes a nice place to mount auxilary driving lights.

Re: $2,500 running BF on Craigs near Redding CA

Interesting that there are 2 Happy Valley's semi close to 2 Redding/Reading's. Rhyde, I think that compartment that you see aft of the generator compartment is the fridge panel. I have a 1989 26 RSB and that is what the panel looks like but for me it is on the other side by the door. My battery is i...

Re: $2,500 running BF on Craigs near Redding CA

The ad says it is located in Happy Valley....the only Happy Valley I know of is Penn State. I'm wondering if the seller meant to put Reading PA. Unless there is another Happy Valley.

Re: Does anybody have advice on getting ready for a trip ?

Are you going away for a weekend or week(s)? I think that makes a difference. Mostly I do weekend camping. One of the things I love about the RV -vs- my old popup is that I can leave a lot of stuff in there. I only need to pack my cloths for the weekend and food. For a weekend if I forget something ...

What do you LOVE about your Born Free?

I love my Born Free because I get to spend quality time with my Son 5, Neice 13, and Nephew 10 (and sometimes my wife.....she doesn't like campng as much as I do). My BF allows me to give them experiences they would not get elsewhere. How to build a fire, how to cook, visiting wildlife preserves, Hi...
