Rear bumper caster wheels
RV currently has 5" black, hard plastic (polyurethane, perhaps) wheels that are rather worn down.
1) Is there any advantage or disadvantage of using 6" rather than 5" ones?
2) Are rubber ones (with higher load capacity) recommended or not?
3) Are swivel-type better than fixed ones?

I'm American, having lived/worked in HK for the past 16 years, but take some of my holidays in the US. I hope to have more time to travel around the States soon and getting an RV seemed like a good idea. The BRP was actually a rather straight route from Fla, where I purchased it, to Pa. where I grew...

Ah,now I see the problem with the wording of my original post. The outlets and microwave worked when plugged into the dealer's campsite power. When on the trip, these would work off the generator, but not off the campsite power once the generator was shutdown. This is why the winterizing shop sugges...

Thanks for all of your replies. While I did fill 'Eric up each time, there were certainly some flat runs besides all of the mountains along most of my route. And the speed limit is around 45 for most of it although with no traffic I did push it occasionally. Anyways, it sounds like I can avoid any r...

I thank you both for your replies. The problem I'm experiencing was not present at the dealership. They gave me a few days in their campsite and the electricals worked as advertised. So it would seem that all the equipment is there. Perhaps the batteries are not charging properly? Wouldn't that also...

Gas mileage
I've got another one for you experienced owners out there...During my first trip in my recently acquired 2001 RSB (from Fla. to Pa. up the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive in November), I averaged about 8-11 mpg along this hilly and windy route that was basically traffic-free. Does that seem lik...

Is there a "transition switch"?
I am a recent first time buyer of an RV. Guess I've just got dumb-luck to have stumbled into Mr. Dodgens himself, in Fla., who promptly sold me a nice 2001 RSB Born Free and had it put in storage for 6 months (it's a bit of a story)! Anyways, when I returned and tested everything out at the dealersh...
