Re: Inverter install '99 RB
Thanks for the input. It also looks like one of the outlet wires also goes to the refrigerator heater. I’ll have to run on LP only.

Inverter install '99 RB
I've recently obtained a 1000 watt sine wave inverter for my 1999 RB Born Free. I plan on hooking up all the outlets to the inverter output. My question is where can I gain high-amperage access to the under-sink area. I've looked at the cables from the batteries and they just go into two holes near ...

Re: 1999 RB Microwave replacement
Thanks! I decided to order that unit. Think the muffin fan is really necessary, or just more peace of mind?
Also, no problem with depth? We full time (no workshop, table saw etc.). What did you encounter with height?
Appreciate the feedback!

1999 RB Microwave replacement
After spending HOURS fiddling with various switches etc., I have to get a new microwave oven. I noticed a lot of the posts on this topic are somewhat dated, so I thought I'd ask now. The opening in the old trim kit is 22 X 11 high. The large cutout in the plywood is 22 1/2 x 15 inches high. Biggest ...

Bill:
One thing I keep wondering is possibly backpressure from a partially-clogged catalytic converter. Your opinion?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Low mpg
Thanks! I’ve got a can of MAF sensor cleaner with me, so that will be easy. Is oxygen sensor replacement an on-the-road DIY project?

Low mpg
We have a 1999 Born Free that we've driven over 80,000 miles in 6 years. At the 113K - 119K miles area, we were getting about 9.5 mpg. At 127K, we got misfires and, after changing coils etc. finally got a rebuilt engine installed. (We full time in the RV). The mpg had dropped at about 124K to 7.6 mp...

Re: Drawer and Cabinet latches
No, I'll wait until they fail. The Amazon magnetic catches that I posted are STRONG (very difficult to separate plate from magnet), but due to incongruities in the installation, they work fine. I initially was afraid I wouldn't be able to easily open the drawer.

Re: mpg miles per gallon with Triton V-10
The problem with the old engine was repeated misfires and oil-fouled plugs. Changing to new Motorcraft coils didn't resolve it. When cylinder #4 still misfired with the new coil, I tried to change the spark plug but couldn't get the socket on the plug. The mechanic scoped a piece of plastic blocking...

Bathroom door handle
The door on our 1999 24RB bathroom started spontaneously opening. Turning a corner we'd hear a loud "THUMP" when it opened, and another one when it closed. Very disconcerting. I bought a new latch assembly, which didn't change anything. Then I realized that the square stock which connects ...

Re: mpg miles per gallon with Triton V-10
I honestly don't know about the Oxygen sensor. I can find out from the dealer when he put in the rebuilt engine if the Oxygen sensor was replaced. I believe it's part of the exhaust system, which would mean no. I have a bluetooth OBD reader which has shown no errors. I don't pull a toad, and the veh...

Drawer and Cabinet latches
I've replaced many, many drawer and cabinet latches, the ones with the black hook and black receiver. They seem MEANT to fail. I recently got some (which I suspect are Chinese knock-offs) which lasted 6 weeks. I've found some magnetic latches on Amazon which work GREAT! They'll never fail, and are n...

mpg miles per gallon with Triton V-10
We've had our 1999 24RB for 5 years. In the beginning we were getting between 10.2-9.5 over about 50,000 miles. After a plug change and a few miles (don't know how many) I replaced all the coils with cheapies. MPG has dropped to 7.5 or so, and eventually we realized we needed a new engine. ($9000 fr...
