Re: Input for coach absent of Spare tire

Some BF models have the provision for a spare but in the case of the F-Triumph it was nominally only available using a hitch mount which was not an option for me. The resulting job has worked well in my practice run but its a weight challenge in mounting and dismounting a 19.5" wheel/tire. Espe...

Re: Input for coach absent of Spare tire
I am still not carrying a spare and it bothers me. Thanks for the ideas. I wish my Born Free had a designated place to carry a spare. When you pay this much for a Class C, it should have a place. I have thought about under the couch, but have found my storage space i...

Re: Me parked next to the smallest Diesel Pusher Class A mad
I have owned a 34 foot a 36 foot and a 42 foot Foretravel class A. I currently own both the 42 foot and my 24 foot rear bath. I stopped at the factory and the new F550 is pretty amazing. You can also choose a Dodge if you wish and they have weight ratings of 19,800 so they...

Re: Letter from new Born Free President & CEO Jeff Butler

The new president is reputed to have come from Dynamax from whom I tried very hard to buy a coach in 2013. Their head of sales could not have been less interested and ignored me. I considered myself lucky in finding Born Free partly because of the spirit of the place and the engaging way Ed went abo...

Re: Automatic leveling system

This is quite common I am told and have had the same experience with a 2014 Triumph. Also I never leave without at least one yellow light. The jacks are stored as visually inspected but I often have 2 yellow lights. On arrival they are usually but not always extinguished. See also my later post abou...

Re: Auto leveling memory module

Update: The RV2 and other web sites have opinions that seem to indicate that this adjustment while possible (if you can find the module) is by no means straight forward. Requiring patience, time, a flat site from which to start and probably mains power as the jacks will be operating for the time it ...

Re: First factory direct Class A diesel pusher by Nexus
How wide are these Nexus motorhomes? BF F550 chassis has been bad mouthed as not being a Super C , however the F550 has a diesel with 440 HP and 860 FT LBS , and is 8' 6" wide (called a wide body ) that really increases interior space .
No - hp/torque consi...

Auto leveling memory module

Has anyone ever adjusted their HWH memory? I believe there is a module that has a the ability to adjust/set the level. When my jacks deploy the consistently set the level with the left/front down. I correct with manual inputs which are neither accurate nor efficient because sometime it make better s...

I did 42 days in 2014 and plan 160 in 2015. An intimate involvement!

Re: Letter from new Born Free President & CEO Jeff Butler

I am guessing here but after John (snr's) big C, I think the family dislocation was so extensive that they probably did all of the above: brand, company and assets. That they were not picked up by another brand is probably because their market share is very small and when you factor in the F Series ...

Re: Letter from new Born Free President & CEO Jeff Butler

I missed the announcement such as it is. Almost nothing on the buyers is out on the web except possibly that its base is Austin TX. This seems to indicate a small fund with limited Operating experience and resources. The expression "plans to grow the business" is a boiler plate one that is...
I'll repeat my comment from another conversation for the benefit of Mr. Butler: I always thought BF should/could be an iconic brand like Airstream (which has been sold many times). Hopefully the infusion of cash can make good things happen for the company.
What...

Re: on demand hot water heater

I have experienced all the problems discussed above withe on-demand system. I would add that the hot water pipes from the heater to the faucets that run outside (in particular) the coach are not insulated. So when you interrupt the hot water flow for longer than 30 seconds (Spring, Winter or Fall) t...
