Re: Awning options
I think Mike & Linda have the right idea. I have been searching for those bent arms for A Dometic awning for our 2008 RSB for the past month. I’ve called several places around the country and have had no luck to date. Most are saying Dometic is way behind on production, but I was also told that ...

Re: Charge Line for Toad Battery & added accessory circuits
Thanks all for the info! So here's my progress so far and info for others that may need it. Under Chassis routing: - Routing underneath chassis is fairly straight forward on drivers side. - use 1/2 convoluted plastic wire loom, fairly cheap, matches what is there now. Our trailer , welding shop had ...

Re: Charge Line for Toad Battery & added accessory circuits
Roger,
I've assumed that the Brake Buddy would drain the battery or if the ignition switch went to accessory. I've heard others having issues, so that was my concern. I have it run now, justvfew connections, so we'll see.

Re: Fresh Water Tank - Deteriorate?
You may see plastic deterioration if exposed to sun. Don't see any reason why the tank would deteriorate, especially since it is protected.

Re: Charge Line for Toad Battery & added accessory circuits
Thanks!
Unfortunately my connector on BF does not have charge wire, just lights.
Thanks for the tip on circuit breaker, I should have though of that before getting inline fuseholders. I'm assuming those breakers reset themselves?
Thanks for the routing tips. Progress should begin today.

Charge Line for Toad Battery & added accessory circuits
Going to be going for a long trip for our first time with a toad, Jeep Wrangler. I searched and could not find anything so here goes. I'd like to run a charge line on the BF to the 7 pin connector for the Jeep to charge the battery. I see a pretty clear shot to run the wire underneath, but wondering...

Re: Finally! Another Born Free
Just came from a trip to Cape Cod, and a new Born Free pulled into our campground. Hit the drag races in Ohio in August, and yep, another Born Free, this one much older, but still doing the job! At the Cape, two people asked about the Born Free and RVing, with lots of interest. One kept asking, 'any...

Folding step
Considering adding a manual folding step to our 27 RSB side door. I also use a plastic portable folding step as others have said here, but thought one that is attached would be more stable, and just tuck underneath and out of the way when not needed. Has anyone tried one or have any input before I t...

Re: New ball joints @ 86K?
When we got our first RV, a 2008 27 RSB, I needed to get used to driving a class c. Some folks said you just get used to the wander. I brought it in for an alignment and wanted the recommended settings mentioned here in other posts to stop the wandering. Also, mentioned that it seemed to 'lock in' a...

Re: When should I be checking my brake pads?
If you require an annual inspection, that may be a good time to have the calipers serviced/ lubricated. On my Ford F250 Crew cab, that service at Ford dealer was approx. $175 (4 calipers). This was my first Ford, and all my previous hands on previous repair experience was with older GMs where the ro...

Re: Me parked next to the smallest Diesel Pusher Class A mad
Funny, this weekend, we had one pull in next to us just like that one. Not that much longer than our BF but much taller with more space. Being that we occasionally tow trailers, I started to wonder, as I was comparing them side to side, if it would have been better to go to a short Class A. But, so ...

Re: leaf springs added on 2010 BF?
Added a leaf to our 2008 27RSB (2007 E450 chassis). Unit only had 7500 miles on it when we got it last year. Raised the rear about 1.5 inches if I remember correctly. Rides much better, and was also good addition as I tow a boat also. Actually rides smoother , not harsher. Cost was under $500 instal...

Re: Question on the air bags
I too had an extra leaf added by a truck spring shop on our '08 27RSB. Did this mainly to maintain level while towing. It was an excellent upgrade,! Coach rides much smoother and did raise the rear by about 1.5 as well. Does not look raised, but level. Was hitting the rear frame wheels at times so t...

Re: how to de winterize a Born Free coach?
Thanks. We did that the first year, but I was wondering if it was overkill filling the tank again and draining it.
