We handed over our lovely machine to its new proud owner today. He is a former Born Free *dually truck camper* owner from Cherokee, Iowa, and will be a fun person for the Leap'n Lions group. Cherokee is about 68 miles due west of Humboldt on Iowa Highway 3. Doctor Al and Ramona Kennedy will likely b...

Tony, In short, the unit handles very well compared to a basic Class A of similar length, and much less tendency to wander in a side wind or when being passed by a larger vehicle. The Kodiak motorhome chassis has a very tight turn diameter with a 53-degree wheel cut -- can turn around completely in ...

Could you set up a parking area on the other side of your home with drive-in access from the street, say along the property line? You could have a contractor pour concrete, or asphalt, or even gravel if the ground will support it. An electrical feed would also be easy to run and you could have a ful...

Dave & Deb: Welcome! We are in the owner-agent program, and it would be our pleasure to speak with you about Born Free coaches. Cathleen and I live near Colorado Springs, and have just put our 2006 32-ft rig up for sale due to an imminent move out of country. However, we can answer general quest...

For 32-ft President models, there have been two safety type recalls that I am aware of: 1. Chevrolet will replace some screws in the passenger side windshield wiper which could work loose and cause the wiper arm to scratch the glass, or not wipe in a desired pattern. The fix takes less than 10 minut...

We've towed a car hauler with both 32-ft Presidents we owned, and the trailer is a Load Trail 18-ft wood deck dual axle (both with electric brakes) rated for 7,500 lbs, and it weighs in at 1,900 lbs. I added a lockable storage bin on the frame, so with hardware, straps, etc it's right around a ton. ...

Abby: I echo the sentiments expressed by others, especially being concerned about the length of these things. There are a few techniques to learn, but an open parking lot will give you lots of confidence in your ability to handle anything from a 22-ft to 32-ft coach. The Wilkinsons just purchased a ...

Congrats on your purchase, Mr Stone. I've had the starter (chassis) battery discharge twice when the rig was parked, plugged into 50A shore power, but my trailer brake controller in the cab was left plugged in for more than a week. By just unplugging the brake controller, I've had no further problem...

To give you another perspective, we have the 32-ft unit with a factory installed, in-motion King-Dome, and pulling in DirecTV on the living area LCD television. Previously, we had a similar setup in the 32-ft prototype. We know some people have differing opinions on the whole idea of satellite TV, b...

We went with Progressive (Aon Recreation Insurance) offered through Born Free, and in comparison with our usual vehicle insurer, Armed Forces Insurance Exchange, and GEICO, received a lower quote for the same coverage, and found out several other insurance companies actually use Aon as their underwr...

While I appreciate the suggestion that prospective buyers might wish to go to the 'factory' to see the latest model, I'd like to clarify that "Owner Agents" (not "broker-agents") are selected by the 'factory' to show and permit test drives of personally owned vehicles. We are NOT involved in the sal...

We own a 32-ft rear twin unit, and I would be glad to show it to you and to have you drive it to get the feel of how easy it is to control. This is a top-shelf, custom machine, that is solid, powerful, and dependable. Born Free Dodgen Industries stands behind their product like no other in the marke...
