Rick1949,
Are your wires color coded? Generally, black wires are negative and red wires are positive.

Re: Caster BFT
"Has anyone had to replace the caster in the rear of the RV? Mine is just a metal wheel - it tears up my driveway" 2008 and newer models just had steel wheels to protect the bottom of the Born Free. There weren't any castors. There are two things you can try to not drag on your driveway. (...

Re: Dometic refrigerator, 2011, 27RSB,
My 2012 Dometic refrigerator did have a major ammonia leak last year when I started my summer vacation. I had a large local dealer (General RV in the Detroit area) replace the refrigerator. They removed a side window to get the old unit out and put the new unit in. I am interest in the recall, which...

Re: Strong Gasoline Smell, intermittently
Hello Dean, We visited Mor/ryde several years ago with our 2003 24' RB. At the time they said our 2003 was not a good fit for the Mor/ryde system. We recently had Mor/ryde quote me a price for our 2013 Freedom. Are you happy with the Mor/ryde system, and did they install it for you? Thank you, Dave...

Re: Strong Gasoline Smell, intermittently
It could be the gasoline filler tube hose going to the gas tank. I used top off the tank on my 1998 Born Free and the ethanol in the fuel softened the rubber hose and caused it to disintegrate. Now I don't top off when filling with fuel.

Re: pic of a Born Free on Chevy Chassis
New to me. How rare is this? Not sure what year it is. What advantages/ disavantages to the Ford? Dumb question...Why did they build this? Wonder how many are around? I know that one Born Free was built for a Chevrolet Dealer and he wanted it to be on a Chevy chassis. He said he would never hear th...

Re: Tow Brakes
I really like my Ready Brute tow brake system and Blue Ox base plate. It is all mechanical so no more dead tow car batteries.

Re: Question about BF with propane generator
I once had a 2005 Born Free with the V-10 gasoline engine and an Onan 3.6 Kilowatt propane generator. It had a large propane tank (about 20 gallons of usable capacity) which held enough fuel for about twenty hours of generator use along with the refrigerator, hot water heater, stove top, and furnace...

Re: Input for coach absent of Spare tire
I have an 8-hole rim that I bought for $140 from a truck parts store to use as a spare for my 1998 Born Free. When I got my 2008 Born Free, I tried the 8-hole rim on the front axle hub and it fit just fine. If I had a flat tire on the rear axle of my 2013 Born Free (2012 chassis), I would move a 4-h...

Last Call for National Rally Registrations
You can still attend the Leap'n Lions National Rally by mailing in your registration and check before July 7th . We will be doing nearly all the events that Fantasy RV Tours does for an FMCA rally visiting the nation's capitol. The biggest difference is that our rally costs $535.00 and the Fantasy/F...

Re: 7 way or 6 way connector
All four of my Born Frees came from the factory with 7-pin to 4-pin adapters. My present toad wiring plugs into the Born Free 7-pin socket and into the toad 6-pin socket.

Re: 7 way or 6 way connector
Most Born Frees don't have the 12 volt DC terminal connected. My previous auxiliary towed brake system would run down the car battery. I bought a Ready Brute Elite integrated tow bar and auxiliary brake system for my new toad. It is mechanical and doesn't run off the car battery.
