Re: Need clearance light for 2009 BF Built for 2.

You might try etrailer.com and across the top, select vehicles then exterior accessories, vehicle lights and then roof lamps. They sell them in sets fo 5 at several different price points.

Re: How long on your batteries

John, I haven't tried a test quite like that but if you were using the humidifier on both CPAPs that was probably somewhere around a 120 Watt load. That will drain your batteries pretty fast. When I use my CPAP on 12 V, I turn the humidifier off but put water in the tank so that I do get some humidi...

Re: Electric Privacy Shade

Dave, I had the motor on one of our privacy shades burn out when the shade got caught behind the TV as I was raising it. After some searching thru the Born Free documentation I found the brand name (sorry I don't remember it) and contacted the manufacturer to obtain a replacement motor. Unfortunatel...

Re: Two Electrical 120v service questions?

I don't have an answer to your first question since I always have the battery disconnect switch (near the door) and the Outback switch (by the generator) on when I am using the unit. As to your second question, I don't have the manual in front of me but recall that the Outback can be wired to two ba...

Re: solar array patch into house system?

AM Solar has lots of info that will help. I suggest you go to this site

https://amsolar.com/rv-solar/support

and scroll down to the kit wiring diagrams. Your equipment may be slightly different but the connections will be pretty much the same.

Re: Tank heaters

I don't have any good answer for the tank heaters but they can probably be turned on any time there is more than a few gallons of water in them and sub-freezing temperatures are expected. They operate on 12 volts so battery drain will be a consideration. The valve heaters should only be turned on fo...

Re: Navigation system in Freedom

We have a 2015 Triumph Royal and the dash radio was installed by Born Free. It is a Xite Model XS90111E with the Rand-Mcnally navigation module. The software for the navigation unit is on the SD card and if corrupted, will give a message like you are seeing. If you have a Windows PC you can update t...

Re: SMI braking system

We have been using the SMI Stay-in-Play DUO for 4 years, first in a Honda CR-V and now in a Jeep Wrangler. After using a system similar to the Brake Buddy about 12 years ago, I would never go back to a box that I needed to set in place on the floorboard and connect to the brake pedal each time I hoo...

Re: Towing capacity

I found the 12,000 lb. figure. It is listed as the "Rating with Weight Distribution Bars". It applies to 3 models: Splendor Royal, Majestic and Imperial. All of them are diesel chassis with the 4.88 axle ratio and 19,500 GVWR and 35,000 GCWR.

Re: Towing capacity

The figures I provided came from a form that I had to sign at Born Free when I picked up our Triumph Royal and it shows the data for every model they produced that year.

Re: Towing capacity

I don't have the chart for the 2016 model but my chart for the 2015 model shows:

GVWR 19,500
GCWR 35,000
Ball Hitch Towing Capacity 7,500
Tongue Weight Max 750

I suspect it is the same for the 2016 Model

Re: Issues with AC and waterheater

Yep, I went thru that drill with my brand-new BF. Careful reading of the manual indicated there was a switch but it was so well-hidden that it is easy to overlook. Glad that was the only problem with yours.

Re: Issues with AC and waterheater

John,

That water heater has a on/off switch on the heater for the electric element. It is almost hidden behind a tube. When you open the door to the heater, look in the lower left quadrant.

Re: Recommended tire pressure

I have long suspected that all the charts were the same but never bothered to compare them and had not heard that it is a legal requirement. I just compared the Continental and Michelin charts for 225/70R19.5 G tires and see that the information is presented differently. For an unbalanced load, the ...

Re: Recommended tire pressure

I had forgotten how well Continental hid their tire inflation tables for their 19.5" truck tires until I had to find it again recently.

For those who are still searching, it is at:
