Re: solar array patch into house system?
Tom, I'll bet VHB tape would work as well as the construction adhesive. I saw a video recently of a VHB mounted solar array on a roof and the guy said to just put a safety strap on them in case they were to blow off. Any thoughts?

Re: house batteries installation
The two wires coming out of the back side of the house battery compartment are both black. The one on the left is long enough to connect to the front negative, but it may go to the front positive I suspect. The smaller one on the right is long enough to reach the rear battery. I guess I'll have to l...

Re: solar array patch into house system?
Bill, the model is a President. If you have a wiring diagram that would be helpful, but I think I can sneak under there and see for myself.
Tom, what kind of screws or bolts do you use to mount the arrays. I'm assuming a stud finder will work to find a good anchor. Any tips?
Thanks again!

Thanks Bill and Tom! Also, I was thinking of the same solar set up Tom. It's a go for sure now!

Re: house batteries installation
My first post did not contain enough information so I posted again. My second post lists enough information that Tom was able to help me with the proper wire connection for the right rear black wire that never got connected. When I tried to connect it on the right rear positive terminal of the back ...

Re: solar array patch into house system?
I bought a new controller with my new 2 100watt arrays. Where does my controller plug into the on board converter and where is the convertor located in my 98 BF?

Re: house batteries installation
I have a 98 24ft. e350 Born Free President with two new batteries hooked in parallel. There is a black wire coming out of the back left side of the compartment and another black wire coming out of the back right side. Then there are two fabric lined wires coming out of the front right side of the co...

Re: house batteries installation
After replacing my batteries it seems I forgot where to put the black wire coming from the right side of the battery compartment. I have the wire coming from the left side of the compartment going to the negative on the front battery. I'm assuming the black wire coming from the right side goes to th...

solar array patch into house system?
I am installing 2 - 100 watt solar panels on my 98 24' Born Free. How do I patch them into my existing batteries? I know that I need a controller between the arrays and the batteries to make sure I'm not overcharging the batteries, but will the new battery connection interfere with the existing 30am...

Re: LED upgrade
I just bought 4 - 7 watt LED fluorescents to replace the existing 15 watt fluorescents and haven't heard back from the Shenzhen Green Sun Optoelectric CO concerning their instructions on ballast bypass. Is there a starter that needs bypassing too in my (born free 98 24 ft. rear bathroom) light fixtu...

replace florescent lights with LED's?
I need info on replacing florescent lights with LED's on a 98 Born Free President. Any help out there? ricksutherland79@yahoo.com. Is the electrical feed to the light 12 volt or 110? Does the ballast need alteration? Does it have a starter? Any other alterations necessary?

98 Born Free Onan generator and sewer pipe parts
My 98 Born Free Onan 4000 Micro Quiet generator runs for 15 minutes and stops. It's done this 3 times at about 15 minutes on the nose. The oil is fine. I'm thinking (after adding 10 more gallons of stabilized gas) that, though the gas I left in the tank over the winter was stabilized with Ocean, tha...

Re: Has anybody modified Batt. Compartment for 6 Volt Batts?
There is a drawer compartment above the standard batt compartment that could be eliminated for extra batt space, although it would have to be vented. Has anyone tried this?

Re: born free cover 24'
OK, so I went with the heavy duty buffed wax for the winter to get the chalk off, but I wonder how much UV protectant wax provides. I also did an elastomeric roof coating. How often will I have to coat the fiberglass with wax? I'm a spray painter and after all the buffing work I did, I'm wondering i...
