Re: Overcab bed light fuse location

If your light is like mine it can be turned on either by the switch on the fixture or a switch located on the wall where your thermostat is. The light won't work if the switch by the thermostat isn't on, and the switch on the fixture isn't on. Could have a bad switch as well. I had that issue in the...

Roof vents and covers showing their age

Recently got on the roof of our 2002 24RB and noticed the 2 vents for the plumbing were showing fine cracks. Then noticed cracks in the AC cover and piece missing on the old Delta antenna which we no longer use. The refrigerator cover wasn't cracked yet, but looked really nasty. I guess after 20 plu...

Re: Whats the steepest "grade" sign you have ever seen?

Sonora Pass, California, Eastern Sierra, at 26%. We were towing our Toyota FJ Cruiser up the pass, but decided mid-way up it might be safer to disconnect the FJ and drive our Born Free 26RSB up solo with the FJ following on its own power. We just had a Banks system installed prior to this (Oct 2016...

Re: Rear roof Water Leak

I've had 2 frustrating leaks, one in front and one in back. The rear one became obvious when inspecting along the seam and I could see a missmatch in height in one area. I decided to use 4 inch wide Eternabond tape over the entire top seam. That wa approx 6 years ago and it hasn't leaked since. In t...

I'm showing this for discussion only and have zero affiliation with the seller. I just found this interesting and tempting. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/813900180208788/?ref=browse_tab&referral_code=marketplace_general&referral_story_type=general&tracking=%7B%22qid%22%3A%22-...

Re: Furnace not staying on

I had the same issue about 7 years ago. There are a couple reasons why it might be happening. There is a sail switch that if not working will shut off the blower in certain amount of time. That was not what caused mine to not work. I ended up removing the entire unit and found that the nozzle for th...

Re: Another Anti Sway Bar thread

Still haven't done the alignment because I had both front brake calipers start to hang up causing very weird handling. They would bind slightly, but not all the time causing a slight darting from side to side. Since I don't have a strong enough jack and only have a gravel driveway I was forced to ta...

Re: window vents

I just removed one from ours last week because the seals were all cracked and falling off. I plan on reinstalling it after locating some new seals. One side must have been exposed to more sun than the other side because the opposite side is in very good condition. I'll start a search to see what i c...

Re: Easy Solar Panel Mount

Mounting panels to the rack is a great idea. I have one mounted in the front overhead area and want to add a second panel so I think thats where I'll mount it. With only one panel t hth ere I should be able to step over it if I need access to the other side.

Re: Another Anti Sway Bar thread

I bought a new battery yesterday morning and as luck would have it got pretty windy yesterday so I went for a drive. I noticed a big improvement driving through twisty corners at 50-55 mph which I expected. I also went along the west shore of our island with the gusty winds coming off the strait of ...

Re: Another Anti Sway Bar thread

I got them installed this morning. I started with the back one thinking it would be the hardest, but it went on without any drama. You need to drill a hole in the frame but that was easy. The hole already exists, but needs to be enlarged and can be drilled by reaching through the wheel well without ...

Re: Another Anti Sway Bar thread

I considered a track bar, but it's a lateral locating device which helps with the tail wagging the dog. I don't have that problem. I have a sway problem or rocking side to side, partially because of worn bushings, partially from sway bars which should be bigger because the chassis is now a motorhome...

Here's a link to my Hellwig swaybar install: https://www.bornfreervclub.org/bulletin_board/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3689&p=19554#p19554 Thanks! I have the same bad bushings in front however it didn't separate from the I beam. Mine are worn egg shaped and the bar will move by grabbing and pushing...

Re: Another Anti Sway Bar thread

A little background. Last year I needed tires on both our cars and one car needed an alignment. I asked the local dealer if he did RV alignments and since I just spent a bunch of money he offered to put our BF on the rack and do a quick check the next day. Everything was within spec but caster was o...

Re: Another Anti Sway Bar thread

I am interested in your findings and progress as well since that has been on my list for my 2004 26RSB. What does your phrase "It needs more castor" mean? Sandy Sandy, Here's a link to an explanation. FYI, I misspelled caster. https://www.tirebuyer.com/education/how-does-caster-affect-dri...
