Re: Recommended tire pressure
Weighing your BornFree another way. Our town in NH had a transfer station. Though they charged for very little, every time you drove in you drove over scales. The operator was happy to let me stop with just my trailer wheels on the scales, or just the front wheels and then the rear wheels of my moto...

Re: Recommended tire pressure
Weight of your rig at each tire. Park your rig on a flat surface and measure the area of the tire in contact with the flat surface and multiply by the air pressure. This will give you a good estimate of the weight on each tire. You do need to correct for the tire pattern to get an absolute value. M...

Re: Newbie
We bought the Scion xB on Monday. We absolutely like this car of course we love our Odyssey, a very comfortable car but with the Scion you feel so much more connected to driving. Though it's about half the volume of the Odyssey the Scion is really spacious. Not that we'll probably rarely use the rea...

Re: Newbie
Previously I did the 1" stripe in a solid turquoise. Today I did the 1 1/4" stripe with a 1" solid turquoise and a 1/4" gold stripe. I really like it and so does Ginny. Neighbors have stopped to say it really pops. The former faded stripes are part of this BornFree's past. I also...

Re: Newbie
Worked on appearance. Replaced side and rear running lights with new LED fixtures. Really made them pop, color against a white but scarred gel coat. Replace half the stripes with 3M turquoise vinyl tape, 1" x 150'. It produced a wonderful difference. I did not remove the old, worn, cracked and ...

Re: Newbie
I've modified the couch to fit the spare tire by cutting the couch support between the center couch cabinet and the cabinet behind the driver. We slid the tire into the center and pushed it to the front of the couch. We found a carpeted 2x2" under the couch and screwed it down to keep the tire ...

Re: Newbie
Spare Tire Location. It's mandatory that we carry a spare tire, partially because we travel to far out places but also because I'm married. We are going to locate the tire under our jack knife couch. It requires us to remove the rear support between the last two compartments under the couch. For app...

Re: Seasons Greeting
Thank you for the Christmas wishes. We live in the south most winters and of course miss the traditional northern winter of our childhood. The south has a major difference, people are religious, and I think to a higher degree, at least in the sense that they seem to live their religion a little more...

Re: Registration Deadline for 2019 Canadian Caravan Announce
Sounds like a good trip. I'm particularly glad that it includes Newfoundland, one of our favorite destinations, we have made 10 trips to NL. SO many people go to Nova Scotia but do not make the hop to Newfoundland. We typically go to NL for two months arriving in May. Unfortunately for us we are not...

Re: New TV
Nice job with the TV. We have a 21' BF, side entry and the TV is a little more of an issue. Presently we hang the TV from the ladder bar in the front of the trailer using two brass 'jacket hooks' mounted to the rear of the TV. That allows good viewing from the couch/bed or the one chair we have. Whi...

Re: Newbie
The bumper box is stiffened with two sheet metal right angle brackets, bottom to rear. These are screwed through the brackets and the plastic. A piece of half inch pressure treated plywood is painted white and is painted white. Four bolts with big washers goes through the plastic, wood and bumper to...
