Older Born Free color change paint job?
I just bought a 2004 26'. I'm pondering if I should do a "lazy daze" type 2 tone paint job on it. Like a copper orange-brown color all around the lower third with a few stripe sections up high. But how is it painting (urethane I guess) over the factory gelcoat? Sounds like a lot of work bu...

Wouldn't "posi-traction" be a good thing to add? Wonder how much it would cost nowadays?

Deisel 6.0 or gas V10?
Humans, I'm looking at mid to early 2000's BF 26' RSB's. A diesel one is 2004, with a 2003 6.0 diesel. Another is a gas Triton V10. Is the diesel really more economical when one figures in the higher cost/gallon and higher maintenance costs? I've always heard the smaller 6.0 is not nearly as good as...

Refridgerators?
What are the dimensions of the opening in older Born Free's for the Fridge? What ft3 did they usually come stock with? When I buy a Born Free I'll want a big "ref". At least a 8ft3, maybe a 9ft3. What's the best brand? I know most RV's come with a Dometic, but they also have frequent probl...

Remote purchase "inspection service"?
I am halfway around the world (Philippines expat) slowly surveying the used Born Free market stateside. With them being so sought after, like Lazy Daze, etc.. when a good used one comes up for sale at a fair price they get snatched up fast. How do people buy, or reserve, one from far away sight unse...

Six Inch lift kit ?
I'm concerned about overhang drag when I do buy a used old BF someday for full timing on dirt backroads. Has anyone ever used a "Lift Kit" such as that designed by WeldTec.com (or weldtecdesigns.com) ? Though expensive ($5K) it sure would be nice to have the entire rig sitting higher for d...

Re: In the Hunt
Newbie here dreaming of full-timing in a well used Born Free in the Rockies. I also would do USFS backcountry dirt roads, no tow, but with a small motorbike on back. Where can one find diagrams of older BF's with such things as overhang differences? I lean towards a 24-27er, but what exactly is the ...
