Diesel Batteries/Electrical
I keep thinking I’ve gotten my electrics figured out and then my batteries go bad. It’s such a pain to pull the second battery out from under the chassis. For the Diesel owners, can you treat me like a child and tell me the basics for diesel RV batteries? Is there something I need to be doing to kee...

Re: pre sale questions
Also after thinking about it, the leaky pipes and rusted/corroded internal components sound worrisome. I would check out your floors and cabinets really well for excessive water damage. I can’t imagine what kind of conditions would make the cabinet hinges rust. Ours weren’t rusted, they were broken ...

Re: pre sale questions
I can maybe answer a few. But not too specific. We’ve got a 26RB Diesel. 1. And 2. I’m not an engine expert, and had no diesel experience before but ours gets going pretty slow. That being said, I was forced to pull a loaded heavy duty car hauler once (>5k pounds) and it drove like nothing was back ...

Re: RV Cover for winter? Suggestions?
To add on to the question: I’m in research mode too. But we are in Texas without real winters. So I was considering a “shower cap” style cover to keep the roof clean while it’s parked but still allow me to drive it short distances between our lot and the house without taking the whole cover off. Any...

Re: RV Newbie got really lucky. Plenty of questions.
We did the on-the-beach boondocking trip and it was a success. Managed to sleep 6 of us pretty comfortably. One in mini pack and play we found on Amazon. Once we got there I lifted the forward captains chair out and put it on its side with the seat part between the front seats and the seat back up t...

Re: Walmart Oil Change
That’s great! I’ve tried and been denied. I even had persuaded the guy to let me buy the oil off the shelf and then they change it but once I got to the bay and they ran my VIN, they said it “wasn’t in the system” so they couldn’t. Might have been because I’m a diesel though. Eric Felder 2001 26RB D...

Re: RV Newbie got really lucky. Plenty of questions.
Boondocking beach trip to Port Aransas next week. Added a hitch haul and hitch bag and a little steel grill to the tail so we are ready to go. I plan to run the fridge on the propane while driving even though it makes me nervous. Has to be more efficient than running the propane generator to do the ...

Re: Need ideas to repair awning foot support bracket
Solution! Structural screws. I put a 12 inch GRK brand self drilling self tapping structural screw into the back awning bracket and it’s holding like a rock right now. My worry is that the wood is so rotted that it will eventually pull the good wood back into the rotted void. So since it’s the back ...

I’ve got the same thing going on. Has anyone considered or attempted with a glossy white vinyl now that they’re so cheap and easy to diy?

Re: Need ideas to repair awning foot support bracket
Man your work is impressive. Let me know when you’re ready to shore up coaches full time and I’m on my way. Tried the JB weld. It was a mess and hard to get it to fill the gap behind the wall without just pouring back out. I really should have injected it with a syringe or baster like you mentioned....

Re: RV Newbie got really lucky. Plenty of questions.
Can anybody tell me where a pack-and-play is supposed to fit in here??? Might make a board to go over the stairs and pop out the rear recliner (place it upside down in the copilot seat at night) and try that or buy a smaller one and pop out the front recliner and put it there. I might even get creat...

Re: Need ideas to repair awning foot support bracket
Oh wow. I don’t have the time or know-how to do that at the moment. I’ve been doing some research online and I’m going to try the JB weld epoxy technique. I’m going to fill the hole with the epoxy and let it set then re-drill some pilot holes and put in some new lag screws into the epoxy/wood remain...

So sorry. I can’t help you. Electrical is really my weak spot and the isolation aspect especially. I still can’t figure out exactly when I’m supposed to use the switch under my seat…..
