Ed, Did you go with the Bilstein Comforts or Bilstein Heavy Duty? Just got the book out of the coach..... I bought the "Comfort" shocks, it was in 2006, not 2007. I am very happy with their performance and in fact canceled doing any further enhancements (neoprene bushings, additional sway...

Ed, Did you go with the Bilstein Comforts or Bilstein Heavy Duty? Sam, Right now I can't remember which I went with... the RV is all covered up for winter. I do have to weasel my way in there to check on something else, when I do I'll bring the maintenance record book out as well and report back to...

Sam, Take a look at http://eshocks.com/ I ordered Bilsteins from them back in 2007 as it was the best deal around at the time (may not be so now, but worth a look). I paid no NJ sales tax, shipping was free, like I said best price I could find. I had a local shop do the install for me. Worked out go...

Back in 2008 I was headed to Washington State for a family reunion and had checked all the items off of my "To Do" list concerning the Motorhome except for replacing the chassis battery. I have a 2002 24 ft. Rear Side Bed, but it is mounted on a 2000 Ford E-450 chassis. I bought the coach ...

John, No luck as yet, but, then again, I got side tracked by numerous other projects... You know how that goes. Replaced my charger/converter to a 4 stage, hope it stops my boil over, battery compartment is a mess. Only took 4.5 hours, but, stupidly, I decided to do it on a 95 degree day. HOT!!! Rea...

Tried both today.... The WD-40 really brightened the trim and caulk but didn't remove the spots. I didn't have lacquer thinner , so I tried shellac thinner (denatured alcohol) and, again, it brightened the trim and caulk but didn't remove the spots. On my next Home Depot run I'll look for lacquer th...

My thanks to both Jack & Bud.

I'll try both methods today.

Hope one of them works, I've never seen stains this stubborn.

Jack,

The spots are on both the trim and the caulk.

I'll give the WD-40 a try and let you know.

Thank you.

Stubborn mold/mildew spots

Getting our rig spruced up and ready to hit the road and am having a problem getting the trim pieces surrounding the coach entry door clean. There are black mold/mildew (????) spots on this trim. We've tried cleaning with 409; Soft Scrub; bleach & water solution and Tilex. The Tilex took the spo...

Bill, Thank you so much for the very detailed (with pictures, no less) description of this process. I've decided to go ahead and give it a try. I'll definitely be feeling much less nervous now that I have a clear picture of how everything is going to play out. Looks like it has the possibility to ge...

Changing the Air filter on an Onan 4kw generator

I may be making a mountain out of a mole hill here, but looking at the Onan generator in my '02 coach it seems to me that in order to change the air filter you have to remove the GENSET from the coach. It doesn't look like there is enough room to loosen the bolt and slide the housing and filter far ...

Also received the offer and have been toying with the idea myself. Don't have a good plan yet as to how much we'll be using the RV in the coming year. In the past we've only tried "Passport America" at $44/yr. and it worked out really well for the 2 years that we joined. We were on the roa...
