Would you elaborate on the bubble reading? The bubble indicates tilt in degrees/radians or inches at certain point? The bubble level indicator I use is graduated in inches. If you use one like that it would be best to confirm the reading with actually leveling your RV one time as bubble indicator i...

I have had the same issue. The weight of the water causes the tank to bulge over time and pushes against the strip of wood. I have had to screw the screws back down ever so often. I imagine if you don't catch it the screws will fall out eventually and you will have missing screws as you have found. ...

The other caravan we were on preferred to use the FMRS/GMRS type radios. On several occasions though some got separated enough that those who had CBs had to use them to stay in touch. Last winter on our trip home we got caught in the freeway shutdown in Albuquerque when someone commandeered a school...

When we bought our RV, a previous owner had installed a through the glass mount on the passenger side bunk window. The mount and inside coax was there but the antenna was gone. Can't say whether it was for a cb or how well it worked. In 2009 I installed a cb to be used on a caravan trip. Basic info:...

On board tanks are not requires to be inspected in the US and I even traced down the regulations once upon a time to confirm it. Portable tanks are a different story. Also be aware that reportedly Ontario now requires on board tanks to have an inspection sticker if the RV is a certain age (don't rec...

I have written up a note about how to determine how many inches of tilt is safe for your refrigerator.

It has been added to the technical article section.

We travel with a 26RSB and have never pulled a toad. It works fine for us but I believe it all depends on your style of travel. No towing works best if you move often, like to have your home with you where-ever you go (allows for spontaneous rest stops, food breaks, "stuff" grabs, etc), do...

Dude wrote: I also don't want my 3 year old rolling out of bed. My wife wouldn't be happy with me then.
Yes, people rolling out of bed and/or marital dissatisfaction can be clear indicators of allowing too much tilt in a parked RV.

I prefer to use a graduated bubble level.

Where are you camping that you don't need to level? I understand an RV isn't as finicky as a popup with the lift system and door but still....it needs to be close to level. I think the count is 33 states, 8 provinces & 8 countries south of the border. Private campgrounds, National Parks, state ...

We haven't used levels since our first trip 5 years ago. As mentioned, the only issues driving leveling is the frig and personal comfort. The 3 degree tilt allowed by the factory spec for the frig translates to a 9" side to side or front to back tilt for my RV..and that's a lot! The wife's comf...

On ours the door hinges can be adjusted some where they mount to the RV body. You can loosen the screws and with a buddy to hold the door how you want it, re-tighten the screws. Since its adjustable, it also means the door can shift over time with all of the bumps and flexing of the RV. You should l...

Also, when paying for gas with a credit card it helps to have two different cards as many gas station pumps will have a dollar limit and will not accept the same card a second time. Interesting comment. I frequently hit the dollar limit but have never had a problem using the same card a second time...
