Dear "ds...", Here's to winter camping--clink, clink! That's been one of our primary joys with our 2006 BFT. At first we did consider tank and pipe heaters, but decided to forego those complications, and simply go "winterized," and back to basics. For drinking water, we carry a 5 gal plastic jug (on...

Montreal and Quebec City! We recently visited both when en route to Northern Maine and the Maritimes. For Quebec City we camped at the "Coop Camping St.-Esprit" (418-667-7582) in suburban Beauport. It's a super CG, with helpful staff, and is a pick up point for city tours. It's also within reasonabl...

I've had the same problem, and appreciate your finding and posting a solution.
Question: Do the new probe(s) connect to the readout panel above the stove, through the same wiring as the old ones?

The responses you have received are right on. We visit Canada several times a year, mainly because the campgrounds are great, roads a delight, people jolly, heritage so rich, --and the fun of many jolly place names. Matter of fact, we like it somuch we applied for and received a "NEXUS" pass, which ...

In the galley sinks (both), but not in the bathroom. Been there since we got it (the BFT). It appears that the crew who installed the sinks pushed down too hard on the flared top of the pvc pipe during installation. Inasmuch as the cracks are very hairline, and haven't enlarged or changed in any way...

This summer we're RV-ing cross-Canada from Seattle to Quebec City. Any tips as to routes? For example, how best skirt around Toronto and/or Montreal (fine places, but we've been there)?

Has anyone used a campground close-in to Quebec City? Close enough to use taxi or public transport to get into downtown? Recommendations?

Hans, Some months ago I junked my 2006 BFT's 12v TV (a real lemon). That TV's built-in DVD player had been nothing but trouble (including ruining some of my DVDs). I replaced it with the following: a. A 19-inch "LG" brand TV, with flat (LCD) screen, model 19LG30. b. A small Coby DVD (& CD)player...

Bud, We use a "Bigheat" unit, a plain old resistance heater (not a ceramic disc heater), but works fine. It's about a 6" cube, 1200 or 1500 watt. In fact I just came in from checking it, because our night temps have been in the teens. I'm keeping it on because our TV is an LCD, which I'm told are vu...

Thanks Mal, thanks John.

Have you guys debated your respective systems--Tire Sentry vs. Smart Tire?

'Have also found there's a "Pressure Pro" and a "BartecUSA." Heard any good or bad about those?

Geez, nuthin's simple!

Good of you to post your costs, thanks! AND, the travelogues you posted along the way were super. Your wide range of observations and everyday experiences made us feel like we'd taken the trip ourselves (even getting sticker shock from laundromat costs). And your photos were first rate (almost as if...
