One of the ways to tell which style of Econoline you have is to look at the headlights. The earlier style has rectangular headlights with the turn signal under the headlight. The later style has the "aero" type of headlights with the turn signals on the outside of the headlights. Hope this...

I have an older BF 1990 vintage, What type of base is used on those small reading lights? Do the bulbs need to be twisted to remove or are they push in style? I hate to damage the fixture to replace the bulbs. Thanks for your help!

A point of information on pre 1992 Econoline chassis is the the odometers only record to 99,999.9 miles before it turns over to 00,000.0 miles. Since this is true I would always take a low mileage reading to be plus 100,000 miles on a 20+ year old unit.

Onan RV GenSet service manual

For the other owners who have a Onan generator, attached is the Web location for service manual for the BGE BGEL models that were used on older Born Free coaches. The information should help on newer Onan units too, or you can search the Web or the Onan web site for the manual for your generator uni...

Wheel liners older Born Free

I have a 1990 Born Free it has liners that do not have the fake lug nuts. There are caps front and rear that cover the actual lug nuts that hold on the liners and the steel wheels. Your 89 uses the same liners as my 90 hope this will clear up your confusion.

A couple of things to be aware of is that you need correct identification to return to the United States if you visit Canada. A passport or a enhanced drivers license (with RF chip) is required for return to the USA. There is also a construction job on the south Grand Island bridges from 8PM to 8AM ...

Information found on the Internet on this question: Wheelbase-to-Length Ratio for Motor homes: Most RVers have never heard the term (or didn't until the RV Consumer Group began concentrating on the subject). The RV Consumer Group, referred to frequently by anybody who knows what they're doing, origi...

I have attached the RV tire brochure from Michelin, please refer to page 6 for their recommendations on supporting tires. I would download this as a good source of information on RV tires from the manufacture.

About the question of blocking one or both of your rear dual tires let's do a little math. My 1990 Born free with a E350 11,000 chassis has a rear axle rated by Ford for 7,800 lbs, I have 215/85/16 tires that at 65 psi inflation pressure are rated for 2,335 lbs load when being used in a dual tire ap...

Satallite Signal

As long as there's line of sight between the Tailgater and the southern sky, you should be able to receive signal. Since the antenna is portable you would have to find a location with no obstructions (clear view), remember the facts of all satellite systems is the satellite is in orbit at 23,000 mil...

Hi Bryan, I have a 1990 26' Born Free with the 7.3L diesel engine. The sticker on my chassis is the same as you have. The sticker calls for 215/85/16 load range D tires. I just replaced the with the same size only load range E. When you change the tire size you have to check the distance between the...

The problem you have could be caused by a bad fuze link the supplies power to the vehicle. It is on the battery hot side at the starter relay. If this link is bad there will be no power. There is no outside indication of the link being bad you need to use a multimeter to test for power along the wir...
