Re: Kwikee step question

FWIW, ours got stuck in the open position also. I was lucky. Oiled all moving parts, hit some parts that can move, with a hammer. It worked. Something broke loose such that it works. Bottom line for us-oil it. Miles

Blowing out water lines

I've blown out the lines on our BFT for 6 yrs. now with no problems, and we live in Wi where temps get down there. Just have to make sure you hear air coming out of all faucets, and put a little antifreeze into water traps. Regards the water pump, after blowing out the water, I run the pump a little...

Add Ons

FWIW, we have a 2008 22' BF. We installed heavier sway bars, front and back and it made a significant difference. We hardly notice a truck passing us now. Its sometimes surprises us!

We had a 2004 27' Coachhouse, with two slideouts. We now have a 2008 22' BFT. Both are very comparable in quality. However, we like the BFT better because the kitchen counter area is larger than the Coachhouse. Additionally, the BFT handles better but that is because it has less overhang over the ba...

Trip to Nova Scotia

We are planning a trip in our BFT to Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island area in Sept. Haven't decided the exact route yet. For those of you that have traveled in these areas, could you suggest places to stay, and areas /places to visit. We would appreciate any help. Thanking you in advance. Miles ...

Broken TV Backside

I fashioned an additional support out of tin, screwed it onto the back of the TV, and then back onto the original support, with reinforcement(plastic wire tie). I doubt it will break again. However, if one looks closely at the backside of the TV you can see the fix! Its the only downside. On another...

Broken TV Backside

FYI, On a recent trip out East we went over a bump and the back of our TV, where the support bracket screws onto the plastic backside of the TV, broke. It broke to the extent that it just about fell off until my wife caught it. Ours is a 2008 BFT. I suggest to those with similar models to consider a...

Sites to see in Northeast

Hi, We will be traveling to the NE states this fall in our BFT, for a couple of weeks. Does anyone have thoughts on what sites we should see. Maine, Vermont, etc.. We are from WI. Thanks in advance. Miles

Ride

Sorry, should have explained. We live in Madison, WI. It's a 2 hour dr. SW to the Mississippi River (cross into Iowa), then West from there.

Ride Quality on BFT

Well, I have to chime in here with our experience. We have a 2008 BFT with a 2008 E450 Ford Chassis. Ed told us we were about the first or second party to pick one up. Previously we had a 2004 27" Coachhouse. Our Coachhouse bottomed out going over significant bumps such as bridges, etc. Our BFT...

Towing a Prius

To clarify, on a Prius there is nothing driving the rear wheels. The rear axle is similar to a trailer axle. Just two wheels at each end.

We towed our new Prius on a tow dolly from North Carolina to Wisconsin with no problems, three years ago. Still have the Prius and going strong. Miles

2008 BFT Trip Results, and Heavier Sway Bar

FYI, we just got back from a 4000 mile winter trip(combination ski and sight seeing trip) to Utah, Colorado, points inbetween, and back to Wisconsin, with a new 2008 BFT. First Impressions: drives well (on interstate and mountain passes), and everything worked the first time. More specifically, it h...

Checklist

I would suggest the following based on our recent experience picking up a 2008 BFT: Ensure someone reviews all the features with you and that they run them. Example: run the furnace, air conditioner, water pump and faucets. Secondly, get down and crawl underneath it and just look around. If you see ...

Delivery of 2008 BFT

We picked up our 2008 BFT about one month ago. Kim went through everything with us, and did a good job. However, we did find the rear wheels(ones that stop you from hitting the pavement when on an incline) were missing, and when we got home I crawled under the chassis just to look around, and found ...
