Re: Navigation system in Freedom
We have the same Navi. Often when we get that error, it clears with a reset. Hold power button down till it powers off and reboots. Mine came with lifetime maps o just need to register on the Rand McNally site. In updating the map, the SD card was not big enough for the upgrade. I emailed them and t...

The page mentioned is different from the factory's official page. This one is called "Bornfree Owners".
Lots of pictures of Born Free Coaches in nice camping spots.

Re: Hey.. BFs headed to Alaska, please show us a few pics?
Here is a picture of the German Mercedes Van - this gal was having quite the adventure. We were really glad not to have a toad, and never really felt like we needed one. One of the great features of a Born Free is how we can access locations that we couldn't take a bigger vehicle. Seeing the folks i...

Re: Hey.. BFs headed to Alaska, please show us a few pics?
Although our photos were taken with a simpler camera than Mike's, we also have a public photo album of the Alaska trip, on my Facebook Page, under Caryl Schaffter Dowell. Full credit goes to my husband as he's the photographer. I just put them on the page. I've got a picture of the German Lady's blu...

Re: Hey.. BFs headed to Alaska, please show us a few pics?
Actually, there are 11 of us, including Bob, our Leader. Driving days vary, shortest about 120 miles, longest 350 (only one of those toward the end). Most days are 140-240. We break up into smaller groups, some leave as early as 0700, others a bit later. Driving time depends on how often each group ...

Re: Anyone tow a Honda Fit?
In 2015 Honda changed to a Continuous Variable Transmission, so they can no longer be towed. I think it has to do with upgrading technology and meeting fuel efficiency standards.

Re: cleaning drapes
The interior designer that spoke to us at the homecoming rally, said that because all the fabrics are treated by law with fire retardant, they should be dry cleaned, especially if you need to clean portions. Water will cause staining in halos. I would think washing the whole drape would be fine, but...

Judy, Lots of folks are here that have said they are going to Door County, and can fill you in. Scott and Ed will be there to cook for you all too. But, in the meantime, Caroline has already posted some pictures of the rally on the main Born Free web site, so you can see them there. Great turn out t...

Re: So, what do you HATE about your Born Free?
He is mistaken. I have not "missed" any information, and I have only posted one question on this forum, so "quite complete in answering questions" is also not factual. I guess it is not obvious to some how their posts come across to others, and how they reflect negatively on the ...

Re: So, what do you HATE about your Born Free?
Sam, You wrote that you could write "reams about the disappointment factor with your unit". I think you already have. Your comments and issues seem inconsistent with 95% of the other posters on this forum, who, although have some issues, are very happy with their coaches, and the Born Free...

Re: a table with the twin sofas. The factory can supply a table with a removable base and fold out pedestal which stows under a bed nicely. It can also be stowed behind the drivers seat at the end of the bed. Search for Bill Hemmes post from several months ago that has pictures. I don't quite know h...

Oxalic acid is one of main ingredients in Barkeeper's Friend. Find it in the aisle with the silver polish and the copper cleaner.

Re: how to de winterize a Born Free coach?
I think the confusion above is that the question is how to DE winterized, so essentially flushing the pink stuff out, sanitizing, then refilling with fresh water. The fresh water would then be allowed in the hot water tank to fill it, then the heater turned on to test it - once it had water in it. T...
