Re: Traveling with a cat
A warning note: Cats are ingenious & sneaky. Because we had a wheelchair lift in our Mobility unit, we had to leave the rear doors open while the lift was operating. Well, smarty-pants us & the Humboldt team designed the side bathroom door to be a few inches wider, so that we could lo...

Re: Traveling with a cat
It depends on the cat and its normal behavior at home. Foreign scents and noises might attract more daring cats to investigate, while more timid felines might stay close to your vehicle or campsite. One time, when I failed to completely close the electric rear doors (for DW's wheelchair lift), one o...

Re: Speculation, but
Regarding the Reign & Sprinters, BF was facing the imminent disappearance of the Econoline chassis (E-350, E-450, etc.). So, they had to begin R&D on a new chassis design. The options then were: Ford Transit (not yet available in US) Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (first available thru Daimler-Benz)...

Sounds like a short in that circuit. Visually inspect the lights and wiring, then go for continuity testing.

Re: Why so different than nada prices and why no activity in
NADA basis its prices on standard depreciation of all class C's . Born Free is not an ordinary class C . So it is an artificially inflated market based strictly on demand that exceeds limited supply? Just asking because it would seem to be a rather risky proposition in trying to determine a "f...

Re: DISH KingDome replacement needed
Update from Kim:
Although the factory has switched from Winegard to King Controls for the OTA antenna (Sensar to Jack), they've made the reverse trip -- King to Winegard -- to use their RoadTrip line of dome antennas.
Any comments from the peanut gallery?

DISH KingDome replacement needed
Since DISH has changed their modulation system from QPSK to 8PSK (don't ask for a technical explanation -- I can, but it'll take an entire semester), my KingDome antenna on the roof is no longer usable for receiving it. King Controls has suggested that I move to DirectTV or buy an external dome -- T...

Re: Advice for busted Jack antenna
Marie, I'd love to offer another solution, but it does appear as if a new antenna is in order. On another point you raised -- your inability to reach the first step on your RV ladder, we vertically challenged folks often use a Starter Ladder to begin your upward ascent. Good luck, our friend....

Prototype BF on Ford Transit chassis? ha ha ha! Bill I do believe that is what "Bert" is using in the current season of Doc Martin, with some yellow paint. For fan's of the series, I read that there will be another season next year. That's because, if I remember correctly, Transit...

Re: Dennis Day Retirement Letter
As a Mobility RV owner, our unit was custom designed and built by the Commercial division team, led by Denny & John Eastman. Denny was extremely knowledgeable, courteous, thoughtful, and caring. Because he himself has people in his family with mobility issues, he insisted on perfection in our pr...

Re: Has anybody considered installing a Macerator permanentl
I am talking about a permanent installation on a 350/450. I am getting tired of messing the sewer hose, hooking and unhooking. Has anybody installed one? What are the plus or minus? When we were designing our 26' Mobility, we knew that Marilynn couldn't manage the 3" hose connections herself, ...

It also could mean that you have a "Transmission moved out of Park" linkage. Some states require any video screen that could be viewed by the driver as requiring such an interface.

Re: Who all carry a CB Radio in your Born Free?
If you're on a caravan trip, it's essential, especially in Alaska where cellphone coverage is spotty. During normal travels, listening to Channel 19 with the volume turned down may occasionally give you an alert to traffic tie-ups -- if you can stand to have one ear cocked and ignore the bulk of the...

Re: Do you have a pet name for your Born Free?
Although we usually refer to the coach as "Elsa", we also have a mascot -- a 10" high stuffed lion, who sits in one of the doghouse cup holders or on the dashboard. He's named "Clarence" for 2 reasons: 1) because he appears to be a bit cross-eyed, and 2) because he serves to...
