Re: Main circuit breaker intermittently tripping on 2003 RB

Wow - So basically each white wire should close a black wire circuit but the whites are instead tied together. So the circuits have been wired in parallel when they would be better off as isolated circuits (like you mentioned that you created on your other RV).... That is good to know I will have my...

Re: Main circuit breaker intermittently tripping on 2003 RB

Thanks Norm - Great suggestions re the no-ox and doing a re-wire to isolate each black wire with its own circuit breaker. I am going to suggest this to my RV mechanic next week. I need to go pull out a circuit diagram to understand the purpose of those white return wires!! Thanks once again! Angela

Re: Main circuit breaker intermittently tripping on 2003 RB

The screws on the electrical panel all looked pretty good and tight. The tripper also looked physically good One wire has burnt insulation (see attached) - I am not sure if it is the cause of the fuse tripping .... but it does tell me that I'll need to get the electrical wires checked and the one in...

Re: Onan gas generator rebuild recommendations and thoughts?

In looking at the report from Cummins, what had happened is that the starter gear (a pin) had locked into the flywheel. You can feel the flywheel by putting your hand, top left of the generator unit, about a foot back - You feel a wheel with notches (turbine-like) ... Shake it around a bit and the s...

Re: Onan gas generator rebuild recommendations and thoughts?

The generator was checked out by Cummins in Hayward, CA. It turned out that there is a pin that got stuck in the fan wheel, top left and about a foot back (reachable with your hand). To fix, Just put your hand back there till you feel the rotors of the wheel, shake the wheel back and forth and the p...

Re: Onan gas generator rebuild recommendations and thoughts?

Thank you both - Yes - It has been regularly serviced and I use it quite a lot. It looked a bit low on oil so that may have lead to its demise. I would love to rebuild it, if that makes sense !

Onan gas generator rebuild recommendations and thoughts?

Does anyone have recommendations for places where I could get my Onan gas generator rebuilt or a trustworthy source of rebuilt/used generators? I am located just South of San Francisco, CA. The generator cylinders are stuck so my mechanic recommends a rebuild or replacement. I am using original gas ...

I installed 4 Michelin LTX's on the rear of the coach. A noticeably smoother ride! Thanks for the recommendation!

Thanks -- The big debate - LTX vs. XPS Rib. Is the LTX these days more prone to sidewall cracks than the XPS I noticed on one of the older BornFree forums circa 2006 that the LTX's had some sidewall cracking issues but understand that the ride will be better on the XPS Ribs... I put at least 1000 mi...
