Re: Heat from Doghouse & passenger floor 26RSB & Cabin Noise
I have the same heat problem on our 04 RB diesel. It gets so uncomfortable on the passenger side my wife usually moves to a seat by the table. (The dogs love it because then they get the passenger seat to themselves). I've tried the Dynamat and it helped some. The problem is that the turbo charger b...

Re: Ladder for cabover access
We have a 2004 26 RB Casual Elegance and the ladder length from the inside of the hook to the short side of the side rail is 67 1/2 inches. The side rail is 1/2" longer on the front of the ladder because the bottom is slanted to sit flat when it is in place. Depending on how much length needs t...

Re: 5 Minute Chocolate Cake in the microwave
Thanks for posting the recipe that didn't have eggs. I have looked in this section since I post the original recipe in 2010. I see there was a question about the type of oil... 5 use canola (or corn) vegetable oil. I believe the 10W30 is too heavy for the altitude I bake at.

Re: Norcold Refrigerator inop on 110V
From the Norcold service manual... "The AC heater, see Figure 22, is a cartridge type heater. Refrigerators with serial number lower than 854647 heater is rated for 300 Watts/2.7 amps @ 110 Vac and has a resistance of 41.25 ohms. Refrigerators with serial number 854647 and higher heater is rate...

Re: A beeping Norcold error message
I had downloaded the Norcold service manual last year when I was having problems with a cooling unit leak. I looked at the manual and it said to check the interior light and thermistor connection. (It is located near the light in the refrigerator box). If that is OK then try to run a magnet (or magn...

Re: So, what do you think of a Push Bar on your BF?
Here is a picture of a Colorado pusher bar, with a built-in puller attachment (BG). This is on my neighbors '04 26RSB that was named the "Alaska Explorer" when he bought it. Note the aggressive tire tread for 4-wheeling.

Re: exterior side door very hard to open
Ralph, Your door latch is similar to the one on my 2004 26RB. Iv'e never tried adjusting the door hinges and did not know that they could be adjusted. I've always just adjusted the post that the latch grabs onto You have a picture of the beast in your post. It is the projecting 5/8" diameter cl...

Re: pulling jeeps
I've towed a 2001 Jeep TJ Sport for 5 years behind a 2004 26RB Diesel. We live in the Colorado high country so are constantly going over mountain passes and fairly steep grades. The only thing I have to watch on this 6.0 diesel is the water and oil temperatures and adjust my speed accordingly. I've ...

Norcold N641 parts available
I had to replace my refrigerator today on my 2004 RB. I had replaced the cooling unit two years ago with a rebuilt one, but wouldn't go to that amount of work again without buying a new cooling unit and for that price it made sense to just get an entire new refrigerator. I ordered the Norcold NXA641...

Re: norcold reset?
My Norcold gave the same panel error 2 years ago. You can download the service manual that will give you examples of all the diagnostic information that is available from the 3 buttons. For me, the hard reset would only work for about an hour and then go back to the "NO CO" error. I ended ...

Re: IMPORTANT - Michelin Tire Safety Recall
I ordered a wheel from wheels@hubcapsusa.com. Hubcap Haven out of Buffalo, MN. I bought Used STL3210 Ford E350, E450 Dually Wheel Steel #F8UZ1015AA for $135 (including shipping). Even though they said it was used, it did not look like it. It looked like a new wheel to me. After working with my local...

Sam I wished I had the same engine as you do... the 7.3 was a workhorse and old enough to have all the kinks (in programming we called them features) worked out. 2004 was the first year for the 6.0 and they only used them for 3 years. That should have told me something... I only have 28,000 miles on...

2004 26RB Diesel - Lessons Learned
Something to watch for on the Ford 6.0 Liter Diesel... Last fall I noticed I could smell anti-freeze when the engine temperature would rise above 225 degrees when the fan clutch kicks in. I use a ScanGuage II to watch the water and oil temperatures and could predict at about what temperature I could...
