Manual Awning for 2014 Born Free

Does anyone know where Born Free used to purchase manual Awnings for our Coaches? The side walls are not flat and apparently require manual Awnings with "bent arms" to work. Unfortunately I had Born Free install a 14ft Dometic "Cassette" Awning when we had it built. We are in the...

Re: Need Info on awning ‘08 RSB

Ed, did you get your Awnings with Bent arm issue resolved? I am actually trying to locate an Awning with Bent Arms to replace my Dometic Cassette Awning originally installed by Born Free. We have a 2008 27’ RSB. Never had an awning. The lower factory bent brackets for awning , specific to the BF cur...

Awning replacement advice

Hoping to learn from others about a replacement Awning for the rainy Pacific Northwest. Our Dometic Cassette Awning does not work in the rainy Pacific Northwest very well. The manual as well as Dometic Awning Technical support state that these Awnings are actually designed for SunShade and not heavy...

Re: Bi-Directional Isolator Relay Delay wiring - 2014 Born Free Freedom

Thank you for the response and education! Yes, the major electrical issue was a real challenge. We had a family emergency and had to take off from Washington State to San Diego immediately. Hopped into the Born Free (which is always well maintained), connected up our Tow Vehicle, loaded the pets and...

Re: Bi-Directional Isolator Relay Delay wiring - 2014 Born Free Freedom

Please find attached the manual for the 00839 bird. The wire should connect to the "coach bat" connection. Before connecting the wire, you could verify with a voltmeter 12v that should match the coach battery voltage. This wire is needed to operate the solenoid with the dash switch to man...

Re: Help to Upgrade Coach Batteries / Reprogram Outback Inve

Vlamgat, good morning. No, I was just simply trying to access the menus that allow changes to the battery charging settings so that I could change the Float, Absorb, Equalize, Depth of Discharge. If I followed the written manual, it said to push the left button, but after a lot of frustrating tries,...

Re: Help to Upgrade Coach Batteries / Reprogram Outback Inve

Found the answers! For some reason, the menu access steps are NOT the same as the manufacturers instructions. You need to press the middle two (of the four) "soft buttons" on the Mate access panel. This brings up the missing menu to configure for our batteries. If you upgrade from Wet Cell...

Re: Costco has AGM Interstate Batteries

That sounds like a good price. I just purchased (2) "Universal Power Group 12V 100Ah Solar Wind AGM SLA DEEP Cycle VRLA Battery 12V 24V 48V" through Amazon for $179.99. I researched AGM batteries as much as possible to be sure I was getting a solid product. Hopefully this Universal Power G...

Help to Upgrade Coach Batteries / Reprogram Outback Inverter

My question is how to properly configure my Outback Inverter for "AGM" type of batteries. I just replaced my two coach batteries from the original 12v Wet Cell to 12v AGM Batteries. The charging configuration I have is: - Zamp Solar (ZS-M-150) solar charging system. (Note: I was able to se...

Re: HWH repair effected

So banging on the valve and the manifold block worked...once. Next time I tried to retract the jacks, there was no response from touch pad. I tried another banging exercise to no avail and so proceeded to Plan B. Changed the shuttle valve by using a right angle phillips driver to remove the screws ...

Re: Request for guidance on repairs

Judy, I have attached the schematic of the HWH manifold. Mine is located behind the drivers rear tires. The first view (top of page) is looking from the top down on the system. There is actually a metal "board" suspended above the top of these nuts (about 1 to 2 inches above). But you can ...

Re: Request for guidance on repairs

Vlamgat, an easier way to get it functioning again is to loosen the nut right on top of the unit (just under the IO board). This is a release for the hydraulics. You will get about half a teaspoon of hydraulic fluid to come out, but the jacks will now work. Tighten the nut back again, not too tight,...
