Re: Television Changes

I've been a Visible customer for a few years now and it has been great. It's owned by Verizon thus uses the Verizon network. It is the only service I know of that has truly unlimited hotspot data. It is also the cheapest at $25\month total. No added fees or taxes. Some phones limit you to a single c...

Re: Towing capacity

When I purchased my 2005 coach in 2010 I rigged it up to haul my 250cc Kawasaki motorcycle on a ramp. Combined weight of bike and ramp was about 400 lbs. The hitch is rated for 500 lb tongue weight. The framework for the bumper is very robust and this attaches to the truck frame. After checking how ...

Re: Request for Photos of Pull Up Table in Detail

I have the same table in my '05. What's missing is a tilt out storage compartment. It doesn't hold much and is inaccessible when the table is deployed. If it was me, I'd just cover it with some thin oak plywood and finish it to match the rest of the table.

Re: Battery drain

A 50ma drain is minor. You could go a month without killing the battery. With the engine running you would be measuring a charge current of several amps. It sounds like your meter is not working right or hooked up incorrectly. I use a clamp meter to measure current. It allows you to measure current ...

Paper towel holder

My paper towel holder started falling apart so I ordered one on Amazon. It works amazingly well. Here's a link: https://www.amazon.com/SITANES-Cabinet-Special-Adhesive-Bathroom/dp/B0B4VLWMVD?pd_rd_w=CFWeV&content-id=amzn1.sym.c15e5526-d433-4ac0-a393-a3f3f7218fab&pf_rd_p=c15e5526-d433-4ac0-a3...

Re: Rear View Camera options

Earlier this year I installed a wireless "DoHonest RV Backup Camera". Not totally wireless because it does need power. I wired power to the nearest clearance light so it's on whenever lights are on. The monitor plugs into a cigarette lighter socket. It works perfectly. Purchased from Amazo...

Re: Just drop Lithium batts in: w/o changing anything else?

I installed a 170AH Renogy LiFePo4 battery three years ago and it is directly connected to my alternator. This past winter I added a 100AH LiFePo4 and still have had no issues. But, I do plan on adding a DC to DC converter which will charge my batteries fully and give me some peace of mind.

Re: Outside water lines to inside shower stall.

I don't know what size pipe it is but you will need to get a new fitting for the plastic tubing which is called PEX. There are fittings called SharkBite which need no tools to attach the fitting to the tubing. You will need to cut the tubing. Take the broken fitting to a home store such as Home Depo...

Re: Just drop Lithium batts in: w/o changing anything else?

The fact that you couldn't find anything implies that LiFePO4 is quite safe. A search of YouTube for "LiFePO4 fire" turned up the following: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8xNjz73p80 Will Prowse is considered one of the best sources for batteries and solar. He goes on to say "In som...

Re: Just drop Lithium batts in: w/o changing anything else?

Most of the drop in lithium batteries are LiFePO4 which is very stable. Most electric cars use a different chemistry than LiFePO4. You can search YouTube and you will find videos of battery fires. It is very difficult to get a LiFePO4 battery to go into thermal runaway. Drop in batteries have built ...

Re: Electric Countertop Burner - Recommendation?

I don't have any experience with a countertop electric burner but an induction burner would be the way to go if you have appropriate cookware. The cookware needs to ferromagnetic meaning that a magnet sticks to it. The burner does not heat up, just the cookware heats up. The typical burner draws 180...

Re: Coach Batteries

You might want to consider going with two 6 volt golf cart batteries. You would connect the batteries in series which gives you 12 volts. This would give you about 230 amp/hours vs. 170 amp/hours for the marine batteries you are considering. It complicates the wiring a bit but would be worth it.

Re: Just drop Lithium batts in: w/o changing anything else?

I upgraded to a 170 amp/hour Renogy lithium battery three years ago. I did upgrade my solar charge controller to one that is compatible with lithium but I still have the same converter. It will not fully charge my battery but it does no harm. I am seldom plugged in so it is not much of an issue. I h...
