Re: Who all carry a CB Radio in your Born Free?

I carried and used a CB for two years while traveling. I found the I could only get out to about 1/2 mile and I didn't like that, so I got my ham license. Now I can get out 50 + miles. This works great when traveling with my son in his motorhome. We usually are about 1-2 miles apart and can always m...

Re: How many nights did you spend in your Born Free in 2014

We spent six months in our 22' BF, in Artic Washington. A very nice park about 10 mi south of Aberdeen and 30 min from the ocean. Made several day trips and enjoyed the cool temps when it was 115 degrees in Phoenix. Planning on doing the same again.

Robert,
Any idea as to the cost of a trip like that? I wanted to go with you last year but other things came up.

I use the Refer door. My wife opens it to straight out and if it stays we are level enough. Been doing that for three years with no problem. If it doesn't stay, I move the BF a little and try again. At worst I use those yellow plastic blocks.

I retired and we have spent 6 months each year on the road. Mostly to get out of the heat of Phoenix, but also we love to travel. We covered the northwest states in 2012 and the northeast states 2013. We are now considering doing some workamping in 2014. Hoping to find something in Washington or Ore...

We always ask when we check in. Have never been told no. We get an email from the PMB when it is shipped and then tell the office when to expect the package. We also watch for the mail delivery and pick it up right away.

We use a private mailbox. We call when ever we will be in a park for four or more days. We call on Monday and have everything sent "Priority Mail". We get the mail by Wednesday or Thursday. We have done this all over the country and have never had a problem.

We have a Ready Brute on our BFT, pulling a new Scion XD. It works OK, but I was taken by a bad dealer in Mesa AZ. He put used equipment on the car and welded it on. By doing so he voided the Toyota warranty on the frame and the base plate can't be taked off.

Born Free sighting

Usually when traveling we don't often see other BF's. But we pulled into the Sunset Point RV park in Lubec ME and there were two others. One from Florida and another from Penn.. We were told that another one had just left heading to Nova Scoita. Maybe the world IS getting smaller. ;-)

In my experience, NADA is very low when it comes to BornFree units. I have added solar, sat dish, and many other items that NADA doesn't give credit for. The book shows my '05 BFT for $34,000, but I won't take less then $44,000.

Thanks Bill. I think there is a software package that blocks a whole country. I'll see if I can find it and let you know. Spamers and hackers are a real plague on the internet.

Lee, Get a couple of these spring-loaded spring screens that when kept in place yearound, will prevent mud dauber wasps from infiltrating squirrel cage fan assembly in coach propane furnace. Bought them from a Camping Worls store in Denton, Texas about 5 years ago. They're pricey little gems, but d...
