Tampa RV Show - 2019

I attended the Tampa RV show today. It was a large crowd for the first day.

It was also good to see other Bornfree coaches in the lot. I counted four besides mine. Most appeared to be 24’ coaches.

Re: BF Weight

Mine is 99’ RK (23’) on a E450. I don’t have access to the #s right now but both axles significantly under max. The trade off is more of a tendency for a firm ride.

Re: Drain valve

I’ve done it once by unscrewing the inside out of the casing and replacing it. Not taking the casing out of the floor. It’s lasted several years and took a couple minutes to do.

Re: Age Discrimination

This unfortunately is not that uncommon in my experience. It’s come up for me about three times in Florida recently.

Re: Exterior cleaning

I use the Meguiar’s auto products. The fiberglass RV products for the coach and regular for the cab. To throughly wash and apply wax is a one to two day job. I use an orbital buffer. If there is oxidation I use a light polish before the wax. I do it about twice a year

Wish I had a little more notice of the auction - would like to have gone.

Re: So what do you think caused this wreck?

Hopefully no one was hurt but it looked violent.

My opinion is the load in the trailer was not properly balanced - not enough tongue weight. When passing the big truck the trucks bow wave of air sucked it in and started the whipping and the driver couldn't recover.

Re: Using Meguiar's wax on an RV's roof

Steve I have not heard of it. I've tried multiple polishes and waxes over the the last 18 years on a fiberglasss body. I've settled on the Mcguires polishes and wax for fiberglass (marine/RV) and the polish and carnuba for the metal cab. I like the looks - the coach is still white, limited fading or...

Re: Using Meguiar's wax on an RV's roof

I've used this wax on the roof for years - it seems to be good protection.

It DOES make a slippery roof - be careful.

Bornfree sighting on Harbour Island in Tampa

I saw a BF on Harbour Island in Tampa, FL a week or so ago. It was a newer model about 24'. Since I live on Harbour Island I wondered if it was someone from this BF club?

Re: Leak in Side Window

Thank you for the tip Roger. Hopefully it is resolved. Today I used compressed air, a piece of bare ground wire, and then flushed it with water.

Fortunately it was discovered before any staining or damage. That's an advantage to storage under cover.
