With my 5th wheel back in the early 90's I tried another trick which worked but is not really recommended. I drilled hole in upper corner of flat panel near handle side. Then put in a zerk fitting and greased a time or two. Both tank valves worked well for a few years after. Obviously one has to be ...

Ditto on moth balls. 10 years outside storage in AZ. They go in medicine bottles under hood, ref, water heater. Gen area might be a good addition. Never any rodent damage (fingers crossed!) although one "no problem" nest was constructed on top of transmission case.

We have 2011 24RB. It is stored in Dewey-Humboldt, maybe too far away. Give me a PM if interested.

I have 120V Insignia (Best Buy) 17 inch LED TV which I ran successfully with el cheapo 300W inverter. Advantage of the LED rather than LCD or Plasma is that it only pulls in neighborhood of 30W. Also ran a 30-40W Directv converter. I did not use outlet with TV but a second 20 AMP 12V power outlet wh...

As a retiree from Big Oil, the last thing I would so is defend use of ethanol in gasoline. Ditto the federal subsidy for same. However, Detroit has long been designing engines and fuel systems to cope with ethanol up to at least 10% and I would doubt that fuel stability is compromised so much. The m...

I would doubt any risk. RV anti-freeze is, I think, propylene glychol. I certainly have incidental quantities of anti-freeze in holding tanks a few times a year and nothing bad has occurred. Some folks put a gallon or so of anti-freeze in tanks to reduce freezing problems in valves, etc. during cold...

My 2001 V10 failed to start in storage awhile back. Fuel pump had failed. I was told you can hear fuel pump from under hood if it is working. It is located in tank.
Good Luck,

We have traveled through much of the mountain west with V10 in a 2001 RK and never felt under powered. Pass all the big trucks and many many class As with diesels.

I just sold a 2001 23RK E450 with nearly 70,000 miles. The only leak was years ago from area just inside of where large awning was mounted. Caulking solved problem. No issues with window in cab-over. To be fair we in Arizona have less rain than many places. I had no complaints about ride smoothness ...

This is second attempt to comment here. I apologize if it is a duplicate. -Regarding "goop" on roof, it is liberal on our unit front, back, and wherever items are attached. I understood that from 2008 the sealing was improved but now wonder whether leaks at side seams which are not heavily...

No tire failures to date 60,000+ miles in BF. Lots of problems previously with 5th wheel and pop-up trailers. I do carry spare on carrier mounted on hitch draw bar which is about 5 inches longer to hold mount. I carry wheel wrench, but no longer a jack. Road service folks will be counted on to do th...

If you can see the bolt, I would try one of those extender "grabbers" with either a magnet or claws on the end. Good Luck. IMO no harm would likely result with leaving it there unless your bad luck continued and it got trapped in the dump valve with damage there when you closed it. Good lu...

Re: gas vs diesel in a 27' RSB

We're close to buying a new 27' RSB Born Free on our way to "full-timing" for a couple of years and I'm going over the age old debate of gas vs. diesel. I've been reading up on-line from articles that don't really discuss the topic from an RV perspective. I'd appreciate any advice anyone ...

You folks are making me a bit concerned. We have a 2001 23RK and have been very happy with HWH jacks using joy stick control. Our unit had the rear air bags which I have always kept at minimum pressure because rear is a little high. Don't know why BF went from air bags to the "Super Springs&quo...
