Re: Input for coach absent of Spare tire
Since nobody has responded for a couple of days, here's my 2 cents worth. The good news is that putting spare forward adds weight to front axle which is a good thing for most Born Frees. The bad thing is that this would impede airflow to radiator, transmission cooler. That is probably OK at moderate...

Re: An interesting Link for Born Free from 2016 to 2003
Let's out it this way, while we are still regularly using our motorhome, I will need to sell it sooner or later and at this sort of apparent price structure, it would be sooner if someone was willing to offer same.

Re: Rotating rear tires
I had the original Michelins replaced 3 years or so back after a recall. With no rotations on rear, they were down to the wear bars at roughly 35000 miles. Wear was even. This time Michelin replaced them under the tread wear warranty. It cost me something but a lot less than buying new. While I have...

Re: Blowout
At every stop I put a hand on all 6 tires and believe anything gross in overheating would be apparent. Never yet caught a low pressure tire this way.

Re: Blowout
My tread separation happened 3-4 years back, prior to Michelin recall. Driving on interstate at about 60 I had no sense of concern until vibration immediately followed by a lot noise. Tread on inner dual was completely off and very neatly separated about 1/3 of the way down sides of tire. In my case...

We were on the 2006 AK trip, the last in which John Dodgen participated. Subsequent itineraries have been similar and I would recommend doing it.

Re: New 2 RVing
One question, Is about what appears to be a 100 amp solar panel which charges two batteries, I was told they do not have an inverter I was under the impression that you had to have an inverter to convert battery power to things such as refrigerator and outlets, etc Solar panel is probably 100 watt....

Re: New 2 RVing
Thanks. Any tips you can pass along is appreciated. It's a 2000 model. It has a solar panel. They didn't drive it a lot I'm wondering how well it works with two new batteries. We had 10 great years and 70,000 miles with a 2001 and I will be happy to respond to any questions you might have. PM or em...

Steve,
Just buy a 30 Amp extension cord. Also a small voltmeter so you know inside voltage.

Re: Need a Ford truck specialist in Denver
The FOMOCO RV customer service folks have been extremely helpful in a couple of previous contacts. They will recommend dealers with both the capability AND good reputation for RV work. Ralph Do they have a special RV department? I called the Customer Service number in my warranty manual and they co...

Re: Would like solar but
While ours was built with Fantastic Fan located in front of bathroom light, if you are willing to do roof surgery, fan cold be removed from front and located in rear. That clears free space for at least 300W solar.

Re: Restring Shades
I once restrung one pleated shade. It seemed well nigh impossible. If I were to do it again, I'd go to a window shade company who do repairs on domestic shades. That is what local RV dealers do also.
