So would I, and in a few days I'll post this positioning. That assumes I am smart enough to stick a photo to posting here. Just received new Acme tow dolly which is currently in garage.

Re: Does anybody have trouble with MCD Blinds like me?
Steve,
Mine are going up ever more slowly and when RV is cold inside, they need help. Manual says that an adjustment on one side will increase tension, but some half-hearted attempts to date have not been productive.
Valance (sp?) may need to be removed to really get to them.

Re: Dennis Day Retirement Letter
The last time we were in Humboldt, a couple of years back, I had a lengthy chat with Dennis. He impressed me as a very knowledgeable and personable man. Wishing him a most enjoyable retirement.

That's me with the BF on ebay. You folks have heard my comments on the solar subject from time to time. Sale is due to health, not at all about any difficulty with the RV.

Re: Tow Dolly Question for Engineers
Roger, Thanks. That's the sort of comfort I need. One of the Acme user blogs talked of leaving front tires a couple of inches behind front of ramp to give wheels and vehicle a little freedom of movement. My hang-up is that vehicle tied down to the dolly is pretty much rigidly kept in line with dolly...

Re: Tow Dolly Question for Engineers
That's another way of describing my concern. All other dollies have a swivel plate. There is little stress on car front wheels and suspension on a swivel plate dolly. Haven't used new dolly yet and Roger has a '10 Prius same as me and reports no problems. That the straps need recinching after a few...

Re: Tow Dolly Question for Engineers
I too am considering going to a dolly and agree there is a lot of support for the Acme. My hang-up is not related to permiting front wheels to turn. Rather that in a turn, the toad is twisted which effectively forces the dolly wheels to slide to the inside. Owners report black stripes doing tight ri...

Re: The new Born Free Arion
Just an opinion concerning pricing. Were I shopping for a Winnebago, initial offer to dealer would be 20% under list and I would expect to pay something like 15% below. My buying experience from Born Free (2001 and 2011 models) has been at or near list and now that there are a few dealers, I wonder ...

Re: Cost of RV Parks
I am sitting in an RV park in the desert east of San Diego paying $74 a night for a space I used to pay $25 a night for not that long ago. Welcome to California, where taxes are never high enough. Bill Bill, If you are in Borrego Springs, the state park west of town is fine and a whole lot cheaper....

Re: Cost of RV Parks
This is a very unscientific opinion, but my general view is that over many years motel rates have increased more than private campgrounds. Remember the reason for names like Motel 6 and Budget 8?

Re: Making the Heater run longer when BoonDocking?
Steve, You will probably never see a true resting voltage in the real world, so it is pointless to be getting too picky over voltage and % full charge. Just don't go below 12.1-12.2 and your batteries will not suffer too much. There is also a phenomenon called "surface charge" that will co...

Re: Making the Heater run longer when BoonDocking?
Steve, Full batteries "resting" voltage should be in range of 12.7-12.8 volts so apparently you started out approximately 1/2 discharged. There is a lever or sorts inside your thermostat box and it can be set to go longer between cycles which means furnace fan is spending less total time i...

Re: Sun, we need to have a talk about solar power
This is second try since local wi-fi kicked me off. Sorry if it ends up being a duplicate. We have 2000W inverter, 300 AMP solar and 440 AH AGM batteries. We dry camp 2/3 of the time, typically 1-3 days at a spot using micro 10-20 minutes per day(no convection), coffee maker, and DTV maybe 5-6 hours...
