Locating fuel pump.
Dave, my generator does start. However the last two times I ran it, I did notice a slight surge as it ran. (?) Mel, thanks for the local of the fuel filter. That tube going into drain the tank ruining a spring sounds like a real potential problem. Not knowing in advance. Hmm? I wonder where a replac...

Hans, would kicking the tire qualify as a replacement for "banging the pump?" For I came close to doing that in my frustration yesterday. I have no manual. We bought our 2002 as a (now socially acceptable term: previously owned vehicle) i.e., USED! What was another frustration for me...

Locating fuel pump.
Second thought/question. Is the fuel filter located near the fuel tank or near the engine area?

Locating fuel pump.
We finally assumed the pump was inside the tank.
No, we did not think to disconnect the line there. I'm not sure we could maneuver under the coach ~ so little room. Maybe my son-in-law could do it, since he is smaller in stature........and gerth!
thanks for the idea.

Locating fuel pump.
Bill, Thanks for the reply. I had my mechanic-talented son-in-law come over this evening and we tried everything possible to locate it. He tested the relays with his meter, and the re-set switch for the fuel pump - - finally, after looking almost everywhere. It was behind a panel, tucked way up out ...

Locating fuel pump.
Our 2002 26' BF has been sitting for over year. Last started perhaps six months ago. Surgery kept me inactive. It won't start now. I have replaced the battery. It cranks fast. Used starter fluid and engine appears to start but only run on the starter fluid for 2 seconds, then quits. I want to check ...

I find that very interesting, Walter. That ratio is most interesting.

Point of info. Our lowest temp last week was 25 degrees. They announced this beat the former record of 29 set in 1929. As you can see by the date and the temperatures, cold temperatures are not common in central California. We lived in WY and MT ~ no RV back then ~ and the lowest we experienced was ...

I appreciate the steps, Bill. Incidentally, I already have the right kind of compressor.

I appreciate the replies. Think I'll have to formulate the questions I have based upon what you've shared already. If I'm understanding this, this air-connector allows you to first fill the fresh water tank with air; and that pressure blows through the system? I'm still a bit confused on how to bypa...

Nice to get back. Ashamed of long absence  I have a two or three-fold question: 1) How do you blow out water pipes? Using compressor, is air pressure a concern? How much to set compressor for? Where do you insert the air? 2) I drained holding tanks and water heater, poured RV antifreeze in toi...

Jess & Bonnie's first "real" maiden RV voyage
Hey everybody! I'm using son's PC in Cornelius, OR. Just had to share our great success operating, driving, living-in, our Born Free - so far!!! All systems AOK! Had ? re: tire pressure, when at tire/RV recommendation 80 psi max for Goodrich, the dualies side walls still pooched out a bit; but two h...

Tire pressure
I'm t rying to finalize on tire pressure before pulling out Sunday. On our 26 foot BF rsb, is now BF Goodrich Commercial T/A all season tires. Tire size: LT 225 / 75R16 LRE M+S (whatever the LRE M+S means) Tire says 80 psi max pressure. On the Ford door jam it says 65 psi cold for the front and 80 p...

Joint - grease.
Mike,
Good post. Makes sense. BUT........ of all the grease available, the various brand names, types, etc. what kind of grease is to be used
in these - apparently universally applicable - joints?
Thanks,
Jess

I checked with my "excellent / honest" 4 year college trained (Canada) mechanic today. He said for those units, such as mine, that do not have the plugs to be removed, he would leave well enough alone. He said it's most likely there would not be a problem much before 100,000 or 120,000 - t...
