In reference to the holding tank issue I seem to recall that although the 26RSB (which we have) has a 21 gallon black and a 35 gallon grey water tanks, only the toilet empties into the black water tank, whereas on some other units the shower may also empty into the black water tank, which is larger....

How do you use your BF?
Trisha, Your philosophy reflects ours. We like to travel at our own pace. For that reason alone I've never been interested in caravans or traveling with others. We like to stop when we want and stay as long as we want. We've also found that what interests others may not be appealing to us. I can't i...

How do you use your BF?
In reading entries in the "Recommended RV Resorts & Campgrounds Database" I note that there seems to be quite a wide range of opinion as to what constitutes a "good" camp site. I think this reflects the multitude of ways we use our motorhomes. I would like to hear from some o...

Keeping Track of Your Travels
I've taken a map of the U.S and of Canada and have highlighted the travel routes of our longer motorhome trips for the past 15 years or so. We keep a small diary of our travels (sometimes more complete that other times) and I've used these to go back and figure out our routes. I decided to do this w...

Born Free or Lazy Daze
I find it refreshing that someone is posting some negative things about the BF. The only other time in the recent past that I can recall any less than positive posts were 1.) Things we would like to see in a new BF and 2.) when the dicusssion arose about replacing the bat wing antenna with a Winegar...

Lazy Daze vs. Born Free
If you have not done so, post your inquiry on the Lazy Daze user group web page. Is it possible that you are comparing the 30 ft Lazy Daze on the Ford e-450 chassis with the Born Free 32 ft Chevrolet? I seem to recall that there is not much difference between the cargo carrying capacity of the 26 ft...

crud in water tank
I don't mean to be a Devil's Advocate so often, but my experience is so very different that I want to let others know. I've traveled in an RV since 1973 and in all that time I have always drunk the water from my "fresh water tank." It hasn't affected me (unless you think my "au contra...

Now for the Devil's Advocate point-of-view!! You had it fixed. It works fine. You are happy with the results. Do you want the grief, and aggravation of trying to collect $150? Or do you want to enjoy what you have and forget the bad aspects of the experience? Is the value of your time and peace-of-m...

Seeing what is over the next hill
In my haste I misspoke! As soon as I hit the send key I knew I had not made myself clear! No, we did not travel to a foreign country (other than Canada (and that's not very "foreign") in our BF. We had to fly. I have read of American's taking their motorhome to Europe, and of Europeans com...

Seeing what is over the next hill
My wife and I love to travel. If we had the money, we would probably be away from "home" 8-10 months of the year. Fly or drive, we like to get out and see how the world looks elsewhere and how those who live in these places live. I see my Born Free as a means to achieve the travel I like t...
