Re: Reading light Conversion?

Hey folks, I know this is an old post but thought I would add this: You can now find LED bulbs that fit the reading lights. Just remove the old bulb and head to the hardware store and match it up. I have swapped out all of mine.. LED colors are getting much better to look at and prices are cheaper. ...

Re: Squeaky Flexsteel Captains Charis

Hey folks, I reached out to Flexsteel and they were quick with an answer. Sounds like my bearing ring might be going - making side to side movements squeaky. This can be replaced and sounds pretty easy. Here is the link Flexsteel provided... but I found other sites that sell it. All are around $15. ...

Squeaky Flexsteel Captains Chairs

Hey folks, Our 2 living room area captains chairs are squeaky when I adjust them side to side. I have a 2003 24RB. I tried a WD-40 lubrication but that didn't help much. Any better recommendation? Looks like these might rotating on some ball bearings on a disk or something like that? Should I be usi...

Re: Outside Shower Faucet not working.

Bill don't feel bad, I've done some similar things in the past. As an FYI - this year after winter my outside shower broken off the hose. I was happy to find I could replace the hose for about $20 with a longer and nicer hose. The downside is the nut for the new hose was a little bigger to fit in th...

Remote Door Locks for E450

Hey folks, Our 2003 BornFree 24RB has power locks in the cab but no remotes. At first I thought I could just add them - I thought the transmitter was there and I just needed new remotes. I bought some, but was unable to program them. I do remember my 2001 24RB had remote as well - but they were afte...

Re: Installing PD4655 Question

Update... I made a bad mistake :-( So I figure I would share here. I know, pretty dumb, I have been doing a lot of work on the RV this spring and I made an error. I wired the AC to the DC and the DC to the AC (it is a little confusing since the new charger has 2 sets of black and white wires - and t...

Re: Installing PD4655 Question

One more question... Is this a suitable replacement cord for our Born Free? Seems more reasonable in prices then the Marinco options that are almost double the price. Camco Heavy Duty PowerGrip 25' Cord with 30 AMP Male Standard/30 AMP Female Locking Adapter- Threaded Locking Ring Ensures a Weatherp...

Re: Installing PD4655 Question

Thanks Bill, In looking over the wiring in the panel I noticed this nick in a wire close to the place the wire comes into the box: https://content.screencast.com/users/Kevin.Hytten.OT/folders/Jing/media/c99fdddd-2575-418e-9129-d3d20945d3b0/00001862.png Maybe this was the issue? I also installed a AT...

Re: Installing PD4655 Question

Thanks for the suggestion. I have checked over the wiring.. not seeing anything out of the ordinary. So you think it is related to the wiring of the converter?, Thoughts on if I just fried my power cord to death :-( Here are some pictures. Looks a little melted.. https://content.screencast.com/users...

Re: Installing PD4655 Question

What am I missing? Hey team. I have installed my new PD4655 Converter. However, when I try to plug into shore power I get sparks when I try to connect the extension cord and the breaker for the power converter is blowing. What am I missing? Maybe the older converter didn't need as much power? I have...

Re: Inverter upgrade question

Bill, Thank for the information. A few additional questions. I got the 2 gauge wire figure for the inverter from Power Tech On support- they told me for the 2000W - "Total cable run up to 10' would require 2 gauge wire with a 225 amp fuse or breaker. if the cable run is longer then you would ne...

Inverter upgrade question

Hey folks, We have a 2003 24RB. Factory installed is a simple Cobra inverter 300W. What I can tell there is a single power line coming off it.... that goes to the outlet by the TV (next to the fridge)... I also know this feeds a second outlet in the over cab bed area under the bed. I am going to upg...

Re: Installing PD4655 Question

Tom, Thanks for mentioning the 6V option again. I read about this in the past and considered it. I wonder since I need to get new batteries if I should explore this again. For us, we tend to travel and boondock a lot. Last year during a 2 week trip we only paid for a camp site once. So most of the t...

Re: Installing PD4655 Question

Thanks Bill, Thank you for the battery info. I am going to go with some interstate SRM-29, and I just ordered a 4655VL converter/charger based on Randy's advice. I did also order the remote pendent. Would you still advise to NOT change out the pc board? Seems like this might make the install easier ...

Re: Installing PD4655 Question

Hi again, So I just got an email back from Randy at Best Converters. "Hi Kevin, The single best thing you can do is upgrade that single stage 7344 to the 4655VL. That is still the one I recommend. Get the remote too, you'll love it." 4655VL -- Randy Best Converter So I am guessing this mig...
