Re: Leak fixed, new leak, and misfire

Russ (?) I am so glad my pictures helped. I owned a 2001 RB for a year and saw some light evidence of water damage... and I have seen a few others - again with the same damage. Often the front of the sofa and in my 2003 the sofa is on passenger side and that end board is all damaged and discolored. ...

Re: Leak fixed, new leak, and misfire

Hey folks, I just posted a topic this is just like this. We are getting leaks behind the driver and passenger seats. By the flexsteel sofa and one of the captain. We just bought our 2003 24RB and drive it form TX to Vermont. The last day was a rain storm and there was lots of leaking.. but also in t...

Suggestions for Seam Repair - Leaks

Hey folks, Our new to us 2003 Born Free 24RB had a little neglect over the years but we are giving it a new lease on life. We noticed when driving it home from TX to Vermont major leaking. I have traced the front leak issues to the main seam from the nose cone and the side walls... it looks like onc...

Re: Insurance

Dallas,

Yup, pretty crazy low I think... and good coverage. I have USAA auto and home, but the RV is on Progressive with a discount connected to USAA somehow.

Re: 2002 Door Lock

I know this is an older post, but our 2003 24RB might need a new lock. Docgreen, did you ever find a new lock that worked well? We only have 1 lower Trimark key and the lock feels lose. I might try to get a locksmith to create a key for the lost upper lock (deadbolt). I am wondering if anyone has re...

Re: Insurance

We also are using Progressive via USAA. We pay about $355 a year on a 2003 24' RB (Rear Bath). We the basic coverage limits. With an estimate of 30 days of use a year. I am 43 years old with a clean record and I have home owners and other auto policies with USAA, I know there are a lot of factors th...

Re: Seat Belt on couch - If you have them what length are yo

Hey folks, I thought I would share my experience in case someone else is looking for info on seat belts for the couch. Please note, I understand riding on the couch isn't the safest place for a person - we wanted to add these so we could bring an extra person or two every now and then. The plan is t...

Seat Belt on couch - If you have them what length are yours?

Hey folks, We owned a 2001 24RB for a year and had seat belts installed at the factory in 2016 for the Flexsteel Jack Knife couch. We are buying a new Born Free, a 2003 24RB with the same layout and I want to install three belts on the couch. Anyone know what the correct length is? I am looking at t...

Norcold LP/AC/DC refrigerator "cool" not cold?

Hi folks, We are on our first long trip in our 2001 BornFree 24' RB. So far not a wonderful start, but we are staying positive and working issues as they come up. As always searching the forums has been great. One issue we are having is our refrigerator (set to 9) appears cool (in the 50's) not cold...

Re: 2001 24 RB General Questions - Fuel Tank and Dash Air Ve

Bill,

I had considered that. But as long as it stays consistent I can live with it :-). It isn't bad to force me to fill up early, we still cover decent distance with 30+ gallons.

Re: 2001 24 RB General Questions - Fuel Tank and Dash Air Ve

Hi folks, Just wanted to close this out (in case it helps someone in the future). Ford did confirm for me that fuel tanks size was a 55 gallon. The part number on the tank was F7UA 9002 UA. So when I hit "E" I still have about 20+ gallons in the tank (I can usually put in about 33 gallons ...

Re: 2001 24 RB General Questions - Fuel Tank and Dash Air Ve

Thanks folks, Well looks like I won't be as lucky as Steve - Ford is estimating $1,000. They found the source of the leak - an old hose that goes to a vacuum reservoir (I think), but the issue is getting it back on, they are having to dismantle a bunch of stuff to get it back on... bummer. As for th...

Re: 2001 24 RB General Questions - Fuel Tank and Dash Air Ve

Thanks Bill, I do have a E450 chassis, but based on the Vin the Ford dealership is telling me it is either 35 or 37. And as I mentioned, on "E" when I fill up only about 32 gallons fits. I was hoping it was a 55 gallon - but a 20 gallon discrepancy seems like a lot. I guess the only true t...

2001 24 RB General Questions - Fuel Tank and Dash Air Vents

Hello folks, I have been reading posts, and this is my first post. I bought a 2001 Born Free 24 RB a few weeks ago. We (my wife and I) are going to take our 9 and 11 year old daughters on a 5 week cross country trip this summer... we can't wait! I had a few questions that maybe folks might be able t...
