Re: Drawer removal?

The slide is unlatched so you should be okay if you push that second section back.

Re: Electrical issue - Batteries stop charging on shore powe

First thing is to check your breakers in the distribution panel. It's a good idea to switch each breaker off then back on again. If this doesn't work you may have a serious problem. Your inverter/charger has a built-in transfer relay. If this relay has gone bad you will probably have to send the inv...

Re: Refrigerator replacement

I have a single 170 amp-hour Renogy lithium battery. My solar consists of 4 panels, a single 125 watt on the roof, two 100 watt panels and one 85 watt panel are mounted on the driver side of the coach. The side panels can be tilted up or can be removed and set out in the sun. The fridge is a Norcold...

Re: Refrigerator replacement

It's the same as a residential model in that it has a compressor. It does not have to be level. I've been in Florida for almost a month and if the days are mostly sunny my solar keeps me charged up. For days that are cloudy or mostly cloudy I have to run my generator for a few hours.

Re: New Solar Installation

Nice write-up. One problem with your install is that your panels are mounted too low. This will allow shadows to be cast onto the panels. A small shadow can result in completely cutting off the output of a panel. It would be better to raise up the panels to the height of the air conditioner if possi...

Re: Possible power for BF 24RB

My tray which had two 6 volt golf cart batteries and weigh 66 lbs each almost fell out on the ground. As Bill suggests, not likely to support 170 lbs. and most likely would not fit. Here's my solution to beef up the compartment:

Re: Refrigerator replacement

Fortunately the depth of the new fridge is a bit shorter. Had to remove the door handles and the top trim and it went through the door with no problems. The new fridge is a Norcold same brand as the old. I opted for the 12 volt compressor type (No propane). I most likely will have to make a change f...

Re: Possible power for BF 24RB

Your biggest problem will be keeping your battery fully charged. A lead/acid battery (which an AGM is) needs to be fully charged on a regular basis otherwise it will begin to sulfate. 100 watts of solar isn't near enough to do this. Your inverter generates a Modified Sine Wave (MSW) output. This is ...

Refrigerator replacement

My fridge died on me and I have a new one on order. My coach is a '05 24RB and getting the old one out through the door was a major struggle. If the new one is even slightly larger it will not fit through the door. The only option would be to remove one of the side windows. I thought that the glass ...

Re: Overhead cabinet struts

I just received my eBay order and they are identical to my existing hinge.

Keep in mind that my coach is a 2005.

Re: Overhead cabinet struts

Bill,
As usual, you are a treasure trove of info. I did a screen capture of a 2009 Born Free video showing the cabinet hinge/strut. It's hard to tell if the struct is a separate part.

Re: Overhead cabinet struts

The hinge is supposed to hold the door open. Here's a link to the needed hinge which was mentioned by WardPAW which is an H-HS100-SN:

I just ordered 8 from eBay for $5.99 ea plus tax.

Re: Ford Econoline E350 E450 vent switch stuck on defrost

Excellent write-up. I had this happen to me about four years ago and it was on the hottest day of the summer. I did a similar approach but did not add a vacuum reservoir. It works okay for the most part except under heavy acceleration.

Re: Out Back Inverter battery compartment sensor

If it is a temperature sensor it should be mounted on the battery. Some have a lug that allows you to bolt it to a battery terminal. This is not an electrical connection. Others can be fastened to the battery side or top. It senses the battery temperature. The amount of charge a battery needs varies...
