In New Mexico the "bread" probably would be tortillas or fry bread with honey. And what about Alabama? Wouldn't that be grits for breakfast? My mother was from Alabama, and she made the best grits. Just remembering it makes me hungry!!

Re: BF Owners Near NE Mississippi?

We are interested, we think, in purchasing a Born Free, but have never seen one. Privacy rules now prohibit the factory from giving us owner names. Thanks. I did not know that!! And I've been telling folks to get names from the factory for a couple of years. Too bad, because the ability to see priv...

In September I'll give them the absolute ultimate test - Florida Lovebugs! September?? Try May and June!! That's the real test. I'm from Florida, but was shocked by the number of love bugs when we visited the central state area in late May one year. We weren't RVers then and were travelling in a Je...

Re: Dryer Sheets

It sounded too good to be true and was with Bounce brand sheets. Dozens of swipes did nothing. What product did you use? Karl Striedieck Karl, Did you wet the dryer sheets before trying to wipe off the bugs? Any brand of dryer sheets will do, including the "dollar store" brands. If you do...

When we first purchased our Born Free, we considered having a leveling system installed, but decided to wait at least a year to see if we really needed to add such an expensive system. In the three and a half years that we've owned the Born Free, we've encountered only a few sites that were not suff...

Hey Barbara & Ken, Actually we put Shackle up there to keep him from attacking the vacuum cleaner when we use the loud monster. However, he has been nicknamed Spinaker Ears by some friends of ours and, given a proper launch, I suspect he could fly around a la Dumbo and the "magic feather&q...

Hi Robert, Didn't realize you had a CC for sale. We actually have a purchase agreement with a private party for a 2004 36ft Intrigue located in Grand Junction, CO. And the sellers decided to take our Born Free in trade. They're building a vacation home in Mexico, but it won't be completed till Janua...

Did Schackle climb up that ladder alone? If so, please enter that puppy in the Animal Planet Pet Stars competition. Schackle definitely would be a big winner!! We didn't make it to the Homecoming, but we've had the pleasure of visiting the Born Free factory in Humboldt twice. There aren't enough wor...

Sorry if this is a stupid question. Have you contacted Ford for suggestions of authorized Ford diesel service centers near . . . or at least close . . . to your location?

I have storage area in the cab over so that I am able to put away the foam piece and the topper during the day. The new cab over enterterainment system with the LCD TV on the door would probably allow you to do the same. We also use a foam strip to level the sofabed, then place the upholstered matt...

We use an upholstered memory foam mattress topper that we purchased from Camping World. I also sleep on the outside of the sofabed, and this mattress topper made a big comfort difference for me. But then my setting on our Sleep Number bed is only 35. So, this mattress topper might not help your prob...

You might consider having the sofabed "widened" instead of replacing the lounge chairs. That's what we did instead of having a second sofa installed. See the discussion on page 5, Nov. 22, entitled "widening the sofa bed," where you will find our explanation and description. It a...

You're correct about the huge amount of storage space in the C/O area of the coach. We have ours organized with Rubbermaid type containers and wire shelves. It's a great enclosed area to stash the Travasak and pillows, too. If you use a C/O bed area for storage, you might consider putting a web type...

Strictly because of personal reasons, we would never choose a RSB. The RSB galley and bath lavatory areas each have less counter space than the RB, especially in the 24' models. And we really don't like the idea of losing the living space taken up by the dedicated bed in the RSB. Add that to the sma...
