Vent Cover Interference with Winegard Batwing TV Antenna?

John, I have the Winegard Batwing antenna on my 2002 BF 26' RSB and I know of a local 1999 BF 24' RB owner that has a vent cover on his BF and has the Delta antenna. I don't know if his vent cover is a MaxxAir unit or not but it looks rather large to me. The Winegard Batwing installs in the same loc...

WINEGARD BATWING TV ANTENNA RECEPTION

Brent,

I think you will find much improvement in TV reception over the old Delta antenna.

WINEGARD ANTENNA NOISE

I had my Delta antenna replaced with a new Winegard Batwing TV antenna system about 2 months ago at the Humbolt, IA factory. I have driven the coach approximately 500 mile since that installation and have not noticed the noise you are referring to. The Winegard antenna appears to stow lying down alm...

26' RSB TIRE & WHEEL STORAGE AREA

In our 2002 26' RSB, neither the rear compartment door or the right side rear compartment door providing access to the under bed storage area were wide enough to permit my spare tire and rim to be stored under the rear bed. That is the reason in my unit it is stored in the front of the compartment u...

NEW 2006 BF 26' RSB MOTORCOACH

John, Congratulations on your new Born Free purchase! I have a 2002 26' RSB. I cut to fit an inexpensive piece of carpet and glued it down on the linoleum floor in the storage compartment area under the rear bed. This prevents the items being stored there for sliding around too much and reduces the ...

FOLD DOWN REAR SHELF

CHARLOTTE, In our 2002 RSB Born Free, it came equipped with a fold down rear shelf and mirror but it was mounted on the rear side of the refigerator wall at the foot (front side) of the rear bed, instead of near the rear (head) of the bed near the rear window as you would desire. I of course had to ...

SLIDEOUT IN A BORN FREE?

Sam,

I think you can forget about ever having a slide out in a Born Free motorcoach while John Dodgen is still alive. The present method of construction with the multiple roll bar feature will prevent the installation of a slide out.

bRAKE BUDDY PEDAL PRESSURE

BobM, When you press the TEST button, the brake pedal plunger will press against the brake pedal with the force you have set. The pump will come on again at that time in order to maintain that pressure. However, the pressure on the brake pedal should release as soon as you release pushing the TEST b...

REMOTE ANTENNA FOR GARMIN GPS-48 HANDHELD

Bill Crommett, I received your E-mail message stating that you had a Garmin GPS-48 hand-held GPS. If you want to consider a remote mounted antenna for that unit, Garmin still makes the GA-25 BNC Remote Antenna (Garmin P/N 010-10701-00) for $31.49 and it is designed to work with the GPS-48. You can g...

BobM, I have towed using a Brake Buddy now for 7 years. I am not saying that you may have missed an important step that you always need to do when hooking up your Brake Buddy each time you want to use it for towing, but I will describe it to make sure you know about it. After installation of the Bra...

GPS Antenna Location

Bill, You don't say which brand and model handheld GPS unit you have. I use a Garmin Model 2610 that is mounted on the dash directly above the speedometer instrument cluster. The 2610 has a built-in antenna and GPS satellite reception has never been a problem with our unit in that location. If you h...
