Re: Newbie trying to figure out auxiliary battery system issue

Well if the Ford chassis battery is powering your coach lights with the Ford motor not running that means that your isolator function is not working properly. The chassis battery and alternator should only be connected to the to the house dc power bus when the chassis engine is running - is intended...

Re: Newbie trying to figure out auxiliary battery system issue

Well that is interesting. You are saying that when not being connected to shoreline power and with your two house batteries disconnected that the lights in your coach still work. So what is the source of power to run your lights in this case?

So unless you are plugged into shoreline power the lights within the coach will not turn on. Is that correct?

Re: Flat towing 2009 VW New Beetle 5 Speed on Blue Ox System

Yes having the key in the ignition ACC position to unlock your steering will cause a drain on your VW’s battery. Recommend that you have a mechanic remove the steering lock pin from your steering wheel column so that you don’t even have to have the key in the ignition to tow. That is what I had done...

Re: Just drop Lithium batts in: w/o changing anything else?

Referring to stevek’s post above: The following is copied from the link he posted: Battery Chargers Now that we have an understanding of the charge differences, it’s clear that a lithium-specific charger will be beneficial. The benefit is typically faster charging. Yet, this does not mean that a lea...

Re: Just drop Lithium batts in: w/o changing anything else?

No. You need to change out your converter/charger to one that is compatible with lithium batteries. I would recommend the Progressive Dynamics model PD4655VL modern 3-stage unit that has a switch for lithium battery compatibility. Click on the following link for info from Best-Converter.com: https:/...

Re: Air ride air bag leak

According to my available information your coach should be equipped with Air Lift air bags. The phone number I have for the company is 800-248-0892. A good truck suspension shop should be able to replace your leaking airbag.

Re: ~36" under coach sewer pipe storage (want to replace hose in it)

A lot of Born Frees are equipped with a 5” white plastic pipe attached under the rear bumper. Serves as a storage area for your grey and black water dump hose. Evidently your coach is not equipped with that storage pipe?

Re: Towing, Tire Pressures , and Air Bags

Towing 4 wheels down only adds about half the weight of the tow bar to the rear axle weight - maybe around 10 lbs or less.
