Tank heaters
We are headed north in our 2015 coach that has tank heaters. Ignoring the obvious question of why are you doing that, we are currently in a location where the temps will go below freezing tonight. Does anyone have experience with the tank and valve heaters that are on the newer coaches? Like when do...

Re: Wide Body Born Free Models
Newer coaches built on the Ford 550 diesel chassis have the high ceiling and wider body.

Re: Request for guidance on repairs
Alan, we have a 2014 HWH leveling system on our Royal Splendor and it failed last winter. We had it repaired in FL last March and has been working fine but can you describe where the unit is with the lug nut to release the hydraulic fluid? Our problem was a little different, I think, as the motor ju...

Re: Can I run my AC on 110 volt 15 amp at a campground?
I am our resident non tech techie and know only what I have read and can understand. Our air conditioners draw 10 to 15 amps, depending on the cycle of the air conditioner - initial cooling draws the most. With the phantom loads in the coach, I think you are looking at a problem with only 15 amps, a...

Re: What is this switch for?
Chris, we have actually found this feature to be very useful in places where we do not have tv reception, especially our driveway while packing for a trip or cleaning the coach.
We are sort of news and sports junkies and with Sirius radio can listen to most of what we might have watched.

Same answer as Joel in our 2015 Royal Splendor.

Re: Level with slides out?
Roger, we totally agree, especially with respect to the older model Born Free coaches. Our 2004 RSB was practically trouble free. The newer coaches have many “improvements” which lead to more repairs. The repair places we have visited over the last 2 years confirm that there are more problems on the...

Re: Level with slides out?
We have HWH levelers and slide and also no info on the slide. When I was talking to HWH when our levelers failed, I asked this same question. The answer is, there is a difference of opinion and it probably doesn’t matter. In fact, so long as the coach is level, I am told that the slide can be used w...

Re: Kwikee step question
The kwikee step on our 2015 Royal Splendor failed in the second year. It was the motor and we had it replaced. It failed again and this time it was a contact point on the door panel that was replaced. No problems lately but we oil the steps frequently. BTW we can’t fix anything ourselves. Judy Harris

Re: Shower problem
I recall hearing that there were some owners of 2014 or 2015 units who had leakage in the wall behind the shower faucet and BF replaced everything, including the wall. Does anyone have more knowledge about this?

Re: Leak fixed, new leak, and misfire
We are still working to fix our leak as well and will have it leak tested at a local RV dealer now that we are home. We checked for this service at a Camping World in central Florida who said they would charge their hourly service rate and the process would take most of the day. This could add up to...

Leak in back window?
We are in central Florida experiencing wonderful weather compared to what we would be living through this spring in northern Michigan. Our trip has been prolonged due to some issues with our Ford Diesel engine which may finally be resolved after 3 long visits to Rush Ford and Truck in Orlando. Reall...

Re: HWH 725 leveling system problem
Unfortunately Iowa is not on our way, but service has been responsive by email. They sent a trouble shooting guide that is way above our pay grade so we will find some place in FL. They say it could be any number of things. We are hoping for the simplest - the pump is not grounded so does not work. ...

Re: HWH 725 leveling system problem
Thanks very much, Ralph. It sounds like your version is pre Firefly. We will look around but this is undoubtedly beyond our ability to fix. Frustrating! Bought some boards today.k
