Re: 30 Amp hook up but 20amp GFCI?
Just a followup, All is well. It looks like that gfci was the only problem. I guess it just got old. Thanks for all the insight.

Re: 30 Amp hook up but 20amp GFCI?
So maybe one the wires to this main gfci was shorting. I thought about that. When I installed the new one, I added some electrical tape to anything that looked that it could even remotely touch and arc or short.

30 Amp hook up but 20amp GFCI?
My GFCI (or at least that what it appears to be) under the vanity sink melted this weekend. It failed to do it's only job...to trip when overloaded. Mercifully I happened to be in the camper when i heard the hissing and saw the smoke. I had to kill the breaker at the campground shore source before i...

Tired opinion
I'm replacing my 4 dually tires due to age. They look perfect but they are 8 years old. I only a weekender/day tripper with an occasional week long trip I don't drive on ice or snow just hot Texas payment mostly. :) I use these on my front tires (3 years old now) and figured i would use the same for...

Leaving the motorhome plugged into shore power questions
Is it wise to leave the motorhome plugged into a 20 amp household outlet simply to charge the batteries for an extended period of time? I don't recall if there is a 'limiter' to prevent the house batteries from overcharging or not. How long do you think is too long if the motorhome is not in use or ...

Thanks for the info. I called Kim and viewed the website you posted. I found a few other options as well.

Looking to buy a new mattress for a 1995 24' RSB
Camping World mentioned that if I knew the manufacturer of the mattress, I could go from there but I can't find a tag or info anywhere. Any ideas? This is the rear mattress with the one rounded corner I'm talking about not over the cab although that might be a good idea to replace that one as well a...

Re: First Time Snowbirders Need Advice
Roger -
I was in Kingsville at the same time at my in-laws. Many people in town had never seen snow before. We got about 5-6 inches but it was mostly gone from the streets in about 24-36 hours.
Originally from a colder climate, I gave some snowman building advice.

Re: First Time Snowbirders Need Advice
"If we keep the heat on, dump our tanks, drain the water lines, and put antifreeze in the shower trap, how far below freezing would we be ok?" More than ok if you are in Texas in the winter(near the gulf). It would be very rare for temperatures to get down below freezing long enough to mat...

Re: GCW and GVW = Gee Wiz
So then where would I find the GCWR (the maximum allowable combined weight of the coach plus towed weight) for my model?
I have looked everywhere.

GCW and GVW = Gee Wiz
The GVWR for me is 11500 lbs. My actually weight as of yesterday was about 11300 lbs. My BF specs mention that "GCW must not exceed the GVWR unless the trailer vehicle is equipped with adequate brakes". So without 'adequate brakes', my towing capacity would be 200 lbs. However, I will be (...

Re: Gas prices
I saw $2.53 at a Murphy's gas station in Galveston, TX today but when I left Pflugerville it was $2.47. Unfortunately I was already nearly full.

OK. I don't feel so dumb now
I found the elusive freshwater tank drain valve(s). Tiny little buggers hidden underneath some tubing in the dark. Hard as heck to turn.
See photos 1 and 2
But I'm curious as to why the freshwater tank drains directly over the rear left suspension. Is this expected?
