There a county park in Croton-on-Hudson, NY, called Croton Point County Park. I have not yet stayed there (I live about 15 miles from it), but have walked through it. It seems reasonably nice, and is within walking distance (under a mile) of a train station where you can get a train to Grand Central...

Testicle Festival

I have just read George Boley's latest posting. He mentioned that as he passed by Clinton, MT, that he and Miss Daisy saw a sign for the Testicle Festival. Yup, George, your were on the right track. The Testicle Festival is indeed a festival concerning Rocky Mountain Oysters. They are indeed just wh...

This may sound like a dumb question, but it happened to us! Are you sure it is the CO detector and not the smoke detector? We literally could not tell which one was beeping in our coach until we placed each one in separate areas of the coach so we could tell where the beep was coming from.

Yes, do please keep a check on what is going on under the hood of your coach. We have friends who lost their Roadtrek motorhome to a fire while on the road due to (evidently) squirrels chewing through the fuel lines. Luckily, they and their two little dogs got out in time, but the coach was a total ...

We have a 2006 24RB and have been in a few places where the extra 2-1/2 to 3 feet extra for the 27RB might have been inconvenient for parking. In tight spots we have often been able to back in and hang the rear end off the end of the parking spot. With the shorter wheelbase, we still don't stick out...

We have stayed at 3 parks in the Humboldt area, two of which have been mentioned. Joe Sheldon Park is the closest. The part of the park that has shade is very close to the main road, which can have a fair amount of truck traffic. This is also where the bath house is. Further up the hill is another c...

We have also had the same problem. First, in cool-ish weather, we open the window over the sink in our 24RB about 1" and turn on the exhaust fan in the shower. In warmer weather, we use the Fantastic fan to exhaust the rig. In either case, this doesn't always work. In that case, we simply take ...

Ron, I just saw a post where you said you were 6'2" and your wife was 5'10". The dinette might be a tight fit. I am 5'7" and am comfortable, but the dinette in its sleeping configuration is 6' long by 30" wide. If your wife likes to sleep stretched out, as my 5'7" boss does,...

I have the new model dinette in our 2006 24 RB, and find it perfectly fine to sleep on. It may depend on your size and shape as to whether or not you find it comfortable, as it is indeed not a perfectly flat bed when deployed. My hips just seem to fit right in the middle, where there is a slight ind...

New RVer: We have a 2006 24 foot rear bath and love it. We have the casual elegance option which added Corian-type counters with flush sinks, which are a nicety but not necessary. Here are my comments on your questions: 1. How do these units handle on the road? Interstate, side roads and off road. A...

I have not seen the 2008 version, but have used the 2006 version. I agree that as a mapping/navigation program, the 2006 version left a lot to be desired. The main thing we used it for was to get a better visual idea where the campgrounds were, as many of the campgrounds put in their exact locations...

Here is a link that provides lots of free wi-fi locations around the country: http://www.wififreespot.com/ As someone else said, take it for what it is worth. I believe a lot of the information is provided by other users of the site, and may not be absolutely correct. Also, many public libraries aro...

In reference to Judy's and Dallas's comments on holding tank capacities, we have a 2006 24RB with 35 gallon black and 21 gallon gray tanks. The kitchen sink and the shower go into the gray tank. The toilet and the bath vanity sink go into the black tank. And, yes, this does not match our usage patte...

Bill,

Ah, yes, that is probably what I have. The unit itself does not have a model number on it, but it is a 3600 watt Guardian. The owners' manuals are buried under a ton of stuff in the underbed storage, so I could not get the exact model number. Thanks for the info.

Generac fuel usage

Does anyone have information on how much gasoline per hour the Generac Guardian 3600 would use at 1/2 load? At full load?

Thanks.
