Re: Donating an motorhome to charity

It's a pretty outrageous way to list vehicles, but it appears that the auto company lists the vehicle by the chassis VIN description. I looked through some of the listings, and all of the motorhomes are listed by what the legal chassis VIN description is rather than what is built upon them. All the ...

Re: Microwave Replacement

The microwave in my '06 had been replaced prior to me buying it. The new microwave apparently came with its own installation frame as it is a different size and used different holes. I had to fill the old holes in with appropriately colored wood putty as whoever replaced the microwave didn't bother....

Re: Bathroom Door Latch 2003 BF 26' RSB needs replacement HE

I replaced the door knob in our '01 with this. It is storm door hardware. As it was ten years ago that I did it, I don't have the specifics any more, but it was almost a direct replacement. https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3162/2510418300_f0d5f2def9.jpg New bath door handle by Roger H , on Flickr

Re: Knob on driver's side below seat

The rotary knob says "GUEST" in the center. Above that, on a silver ring, around the knob, it says, "Fully Engaged at Detents" Below the knob on that same silver ring it says, "Stop Engine Before Switching Off" The Power converter with battery charger is a 45 amp serie...

Re: Knob on driver's side below seat

Thank you both for responding. We will leave it on then. If we have issues with the battery charger, we will replace with a more up to date one, although neither of us is sure if it already has a more up to date charger, yet. We are not mechanically inclined, so we would probably need to take it in...

Re: Knob on driver's side below seat

I believe that from your description, it would be the main cut-off switch for your coach's 12v system. Normally, you would only want it "off" when you're storing the coach for more than a couple of days depending what kind of charger you have. Older chargers can be hard on batteries if the...

Re: Is my 30 amp service plug damaged?

No damage/ melting of the plastic. Think I will try to sand/ file it out. Thanks guys It's a shame. This is one of my favorite camp spots. Doubt if the owner would "correct". That was going to be my next suggestion is to make the contacts smooth again and run with it. Just don't use that ...

Re: What does it mean, when I hear elec arcing at pedestal?

Yes, the 50 amp has heavier wire, but it's the sockets that are important. That is a 30 amp surge protector.

Re: Do these stabilizers have any value?

What is that 4WD? My last one before the Jeep was a Toyota FJ Cruiser. I loved the beat, but it had a center differential, and I had to have it on a tow dolly and STILL drop the rear driveshaft. That got pretty old. Apparently there aren't many 4WDs on the market any more that can be towed four-down...

Re: Do these stabilizers have any value?

They do have "regenerative braking." Our Prius has that... but physics allows that you can't store more energy than you expend. You can't keep the battery charged solely by braking. It'll extend the life of the charge and subsequently the range, but it won't charge it enough to make it sel...

Re: What does it mean, when I hear elec arcing at pedestal?

Arcing can melt the plug, and will burn the contacts. I suspect it's not good for the electronics in the coach either. A 30 amp plug and a 50 amp plug look very different and cannot be confused. The 30 amp is on the left; the 50 amp on the right: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/GoOR2AJGjOI/maxresdefault.jpg ...

Re: Do these stabilizers have any value?

The times... they are a changing. :D Roger, Since were shooting the breeze, lets talk about Toads. Wouldn't it be great, if you could buy an all electric Toad, that would recharge itself when you were towing it with all 4 wheels down? The times are a-changin' indeed, Steve. We have a Prius. Despite...

Thanks Roger. I tend to agree with you. I think my BF has super springs. Not much rocking side to side. Anyway Roger..the guy next to me that owns the RV shown in pic....Is caring a GUN all the time! Re: Do these stabilizers have any value?

Those are solely for bracing the chassis so it doesn't rock. They're not for leveling the coach. It's been my experience that the chassis under Born Frees don't really have a problem with rocking anyway. Most of the foot traffic is along the centerline of the frame, and it just doesn't cause the coa...
